In the first quarter of 2025, the province's industrial production index (IIP) recorded a growth rate of 12.74% over the same period - this is the highest growth rate in 3 consecutive years from 2023 to 2025. Of which, the following industries: Automobile increased by 22.42%; electronic components increased by 12.27% and metal manufacturing increased by 27.16%.
Along with that, many enterprises in fields such as textiles, footwear, electronic components, etc. signed more orders, so they increased labor recruitment, met delivery schedules for partners, and increased the labor utilization index of industrial enterprises in the area by 0.09% over the same period.
In early March 2025, Toyota Vietnam Automobile Company became the first company to have a total production output of 700,000 vehicles in Vietnam, demonstrating the company's efforts in promoting domestic production according to the Government's direction, thereby contributing to the development of the province's automobile industry.
Nearly 30 years of operation in the province, Toyota has become the first automobile manufacturer to have a complete production process including 5 stages: stamping, welding, painting, assembly and quality control. Strategically produced and assembled car models such as Vios, Innova, Fortuner, Veloz Cross... are always on the list of best-selling cars in the market of all periods, contributing to Toyota's success in the Vietnamese market.
Currently, the company's production output reaches more than 108 vehicles/day, equivalent to 27 thousand vehicles/year; there are 13 purely Vietnamese suppliers participating in the supply chain, the total localized components reach nearly 1,000 products of all kinds.
In addition to increasing the rate of product localization, Toyota also implements a project to support improvements for domestic enterprises in the supporting industry sector, thereby helping enterprises participate in the global supply chain.
Proactively removing difficulties for businesses, the province has implemented Resolution No. 02 of the Government on key tasks and solutions to improve the business environment and enhance national competitiveness; focused on promoting administrative reforms, improving the investment and business environment; increased dialogue activities with businesses, promptly grasped and removed difficulties and obstacles, creating favorable conditions for businesses to operate stably and boost production.
In August 2024, the province established the Investment Promotion and Business Support Center with the task of promoting investment promotion activities and supporting businesses, especially collecting and accessing information to provide investors with information on planning, land use plans, incentive policies, investment procedures, traffic connection systems, environmental impact assessment, human resource assessment, etc. thereby helping the province to provide more effective solutions to support businesses.
With the support of all levels and functional sectors, businesses have expanded their production scale, consumption markets, increased exports, and improved competitiveness. Many new projects have been signed and put into operation, contributing to increasing output and revenue. In the first quarter of 2025 alone, the province's total export turnover reached 3.4 billion USD, of which the phone and components sector increased by 13.5%; footwear and leather products increased by 152%; and auto components and spare parts increased by nearly 7% over the same period.
To achieve the double-digit growth target by 2025, the Provincial People's Committee continues to direct departments, branches, sectors and localities to focus on removing bottlenecks, improving the investment and business environment, creating favorable conditions for business development; restructuring industries associated with growth model innovation; promoting administrative procedure reform, enhancing training connections, and providing quality labor resources for businesses.
Encourage FDI enterprises to invest in clean production technologies that have little impact on the environment; widely implement activities to provide information, connect, and expand markets for enterprises; support small and medium enterprises in digital transformation, market expansion, and human resource development.
Organize monthly or ad hoc meetings and dialogues with businesses and investors to promptly resolve difficulties and problems for businesses.
