However, recently, not only providing normal beauty services, some beauty establishments have borrowed feng shui elements to attract and entice customers, playing on the psychology of wanting to beautify themselves and improve their destiny, health, and fortune.
The common point of feng shui beauty establishments is to focus on advertising on social networking sites, digital platforms, using famous and influential people with attractive words.
Feng Shui beauty service packages with beautiful, ethereal names such as: Phu Quy Cat Tuong eyebrows; Duyen Hoa lips; Phuong Hoang Nhu Y eyebrows; Hong Diep lips... quickly attracted the interest and inquiry of many women.
Beauty is a legitimate need of women and to be beautiful and have a smooth, prosperous life, a peaceful and happy family, and attract money, many people have been attracted by the "winged" invitations and agreed to use feng shui beauty services at a not-so-cheap price.
Currently, according to the market, the price of eyebrow tattooing ranges from 800,000 VND to nearly ten million VND depending on the facilities, service quality, and technology used. However, with feng shui eyebrow tattooing services, the price is many times higher and has countless different levels that only the owner of the facility can determine.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong, a tattoo spa owner in Lien Bao ward (Vinh Yen) said: “I myself am a cosmetic tattoo artist, but I think that eyebrow and lip tattooing is for beauty, to improve appearance and this is also a beauty method that has been around for a long time. I do not believe or support changing the shape of eyebrows and lips to change people's fate, if that were the case, society would no longer have poor and miserable people. Advertisements for eyebrow and lip tattooing to change fate are just tricks to appeal to consumers' psychology to make them spend more money when using beauty services."
Ms. Bui Thu Trang in Binh Xuyen shared: “Recently, my business has not been going well, so when I saw an advertisement that feng shui eyebrows can bring fortune, I went to a facility in Hanoi to have my eyebrows redone for more than 50 million VND. I have had it done for more than 2 months now but I still don't feel any change. Compared to the normal eyebrows I used to have tattooed for nearly 4 million VND, I feel sorry for spending money on feng shui eyebrow services.”
In fact, it is not known whether it can change one's fate, but in addition to having to pay service fees many times higher than usual, consumers also face the risk of unwanted medical incidents if they choose an unreliable, unlicensed facility, or an "underground" beauty facility.
Because currently, not all establishments providing beauty services are under the management of the health sector. According to the law, except for cosmetic hospitals, establishments providing beauty services can be divided into 3 different groups, which are beauty care service establishments; cosmetic service establishments and cosmetic clinics.
In the above 3 groups, beauty care service establishments are not under the management and licensing of the health sector; cosmetic clinics must be licensed by the Department of Health and cosmetic service establishments are not required to have an operating license but must notify the Department of Health.
Taking advantage of this regulation, many beauty establishments operate "underground" and are ambiguous about advertising services, deceiving consumers. Only when discovered or reported do consumers know the truth behind the advertisements. Therefore, consumers should be cautious with information advertising beauty services according to feng shui, to avoid losing money.
