BHG - On the majestic Tay Con Linh range, hundreds of years old ancient Shan Tuyet tea trees silently preserve the essence of heaven and earth, creating a unique color and aroma in each young bud. Also there, Mr. Trieu Van Menh, Director of Viet Shan Tea Company Limited, Nam Ty commune (Hoang Su Phi) is still diligently preserving the essence of ancient tea, breathing life into the famous specialty of the great forest reaching Europe.

From the top of Tay Con Linh…

As a child, Mr. Mếnh was familiar with the image of his parents meticulously picking each young tea bud, then drying and kneading it by hand using manual methods. In 2002, when he was just 20 years old, the Dao man started working at a local Shan Tuyết tea processing facility, both to earn a living and to learn the quintessence of the tea profession. From here, his love for tea trees gradually grew, urging him to elevate this specialty tea. In 2020, Mr. Mếnh decided to establish Viet Shan Tea Company Limited, focusing on deep processing to enhance the value of Shan Tuyết tea.

Identifying the quality of raw material areas as the core factor to create a brand, Mr. Menh has linked production with more than 200 households in Nam Ty commune and neighboring communes in Tay Con Linh range. Not only directly instructing on organic farming techniques and proper tea harvesting, the Company also purchases all products for the people. On average, the Company purchases more than 100 tons of fresh tea buds per year at prices ranging from 20,000 to 400,000 VND/kg, depending on the type of tea and the method of harvesting. This not only helps people feel secure in producing and preserving ancient tea trees, but also creates a source of high-quality raw materials, meeting the needs of domestic and international markets.

To improve productivity and quality of finished products, Mr. Menh has invested in an advanced technology line imported from Taiwan worth more than 2 billion VND, helping to strictly control the stages, preserving the natural flavor of tea. From ancient Shan Tuyet tea buds, Mr. Menh and his colleagues have developed 20 high-end product lines, supplying the market with over 20 tons of finished products each year. Among them, there are premium types, priced from 2 - 4 million VND/kg such as: Bach Tra Tien, Tra Mong Rong, Tra Dai Hong Tien, Tra Xanh Viet Shan... Particularly, Tra Xanh Viet Shan and Tra Dai Hong Tien have been recognized as 3-star OCOP products at the provincial level. The product Tra Dai Hong Tien won the prestigious Gold Award at the Asian Tea Competition held in Hubei Province (China) in 2020.

Vice Chairman of Nam Ty Commune People's Committee, Phan Chiem Pu praised: Mr. Menh has devoted his youth to learning, creating and gradually improving the ancient tea processing process, turning the quintessence of the great forest into a product of high value. From researching suitable fermentation techniques to designing eye-catching packaging, every step exudes a spirit of learning and the desire to bring Vietnamese tea to the international level.

… Reaching Europe

With outstanding efforts in improving quality and building the brand, Viet Shan Tea Company Limited has successfully brought Shan Tuyet tea products to conquer European consumers. From 2020 to present, the enterprise has exported more than 5 tons of high-quality finished tea to the German and French markets, bringing in revenue of more than 12.5 billion VND.

Vice Chairman of Hoang Su Phi District People's Committee, Ly Choi Nhan, shared: Exporting agricultural products to Europe is always a difficult problem, requiring quality, strict inspection processes and a methodical development strategy. Tra Viet Shan Company Limited has done that by officially bringing Shan Tuyet tea products to the French and German markets, the two most demanding markets in the world. This is not only good news for the Ha Giang tea industry but also contributes to affirming the position of Vietnamese agricultural products on the journey to the world.

Recently, a group of customers from France directly visited the Shan Tuyet tea hill and the factory of Viet Shan Tea Company Limited. Mr. Sophie Dubois, Deputy Director of Green Bridge Company (Paris, France) shared: As a tea lover, I have tried many types of tea in the world, but the flavor of Shan Tuyet tea really left a deep impression. It is a gentle but attractive aroma, a light astringent taste at first but a sweet aftertaste. I learned that these tea buds are harvested entirely by hand, from ancient tea trees hundreds of years old, growing at an altitude of thousands of meters above sea level, where clouds cover all year round. Perhaps, it is these special natural conditions that have created the excellent quality of Shan Tuyet tea. Witnessing the meticulous production and processing process with our own eyes, we appreciate the value of this tea even more and look forward to long-term cooperation with Viet Shan Tea Company Limited.

It can be affirmed that today's achievement is a vivid proof of the long-term vision and passionate heart of Mr. Menh and his colleagues, who dare to think, dare to do, dare to go against the beaten path to succeed. "What I always cherish is how to make Shan Tuyet tea not only create sustainable livelihoods for the people but also become the pride of Ha Giang in particular, the country in general on the map of global culinary quintessence", Mr. Menh shared.
