Samsung is known to provide one of the longest software support policies for its devices, especially high-end smartphones. The most recent one is the Galaxy S25 series with 7 years of operating system updates. Thus, smartphones in this series will receive OneUI or Android upgrades until 2032.
When the software offering period ends, devices will no longer be supported. And in 2025, some Galaxy devices will no longer receive software updates, including:
Samsung Galaxy A02s, Samsung Galaxy A12;
Samsung Galaxy S20 FE, Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G, Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G, Samsung Galaxy S20+, Samsung Galaxy S20+, Samsung Galaxy S20, Samsung Galaxy S20 5G;
Samsung Galaxy W21 5G - a renamed version of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 5G in China.
The above devices were all launched around 2020. Of which, the Galaxy A02s, Galaxy A12 and Galaxy W21 5G stopped supporting software updates in January 2025, while the Galaxt S20 series still has a little more time.
