Manus can do things like create a custom website step-by-step, according to a video demonstration on the manus.im website.

The website also lists other jobs Manus can do, such as scheduling trips to Japan, doing in-depth analysis of Tesla stock, creating interactive courses for middle school teachers, comparing different insurance plans, and more.

Vừa ra mắt tại Trung Quốc, Manus được kỳ vọng đạt được thành công tương tự DeepSeek
Manus' sudden rise to fame in the AI community is quite similar to that of DeepSeek's R1 inference model back in January.

The developer Manus even claims it outperforms OpenAI's Deep Research based on the GAIA benchmark.

Although there is not much information about Manus' business structure, team, and model, this demo video of the AI Agent has created a lot of interest. The video posted on X attracted hundreds of thousands of views in just a few days. Many people asked for an invitation code to try it out.

Manus' sudden rise to fame in the AI community is quite similar to that of DeepSeek's R1 inference model back in January.

Based on the demo video, Manus automatically browses websites, uses different capabilities, and displays real-time workflows. The development team describes Manus as a bridge between “mind and action, not just thinking but delivering results.”

However, Manus is facing skepticism as very few people have been able to test the product. The developer's social media account X has also been suspended for violating the platform's rules.

The invitation-only trial mechanism has led to a scramble to get access to Manus. On the Xianyu online marketplace, some people are reselling Manus invitation codes or renting out accounts.

Some have criticized the Manus development team for intentionally using scarcity-based marketing. However, Manus AI product manager Zhang Tao said the mechanism was due to limited server capacity. Zhang also apologized and admitted that the team underestimated the public's enthusiasm.

Initially, they just wanted to share some of the achievements of this AI Agent. Therefore, their server is only for demo level.

“The current version of Manus is still immature, far from what we want to deliver in the final product,” Zhang added.

Manus has also been questioned by the public about the origins of its technology, as the product is based on existing large language models, but the development team has not disclosed details. It is different from DeepSeek.

According to Chinese sources, Manus was developed by Butterfly Effect, a company with more than a dozen employees in Beijing and Wuhan. The founding team includes experienced entrepreneurs and product managers – people with great influence in the domestic technology community.

Founder Manus Xiao Hong, 33, is an entrepreneur and graduate of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Xiao previously created popular WeChat embedded apps. In 2022, the entrepreneur introduced Monica.ai, a popular AI assistant as a browser extension and app.
