Samsung Electronics is expanding its range of devices powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) features with more affordable A-series models.
Starting at $299.99 is the Galaxy A26, the company's new lineup that adds a trio of 6.7-inch 5G phones with AI photo editing enhancements and a Circle to Search feature.
The $499.99 Galaxy A56 also adds improvements to night photography and a Best Face feature that optimizes group shots.
The news of Samsung rolling out lower-cost devices with more AI features comes just days after Apple Inc. launched the $599 iPhone 16e, a more accessible product for consumers interested in its ecosystem.
For both companies, the new models mark an effort to attract more users at a time when all AI developers are investing heavily in scaling.
South Korea's largest company combines its own AI tools with those from Alphabet Inc.'s Google, the designer of the Android operating system for Samsung phones.
On the other hand, Apple is developing its Apple Intelligence suite in parallel with cooperation with third-party developers such as OpenAI in the US and Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. in China./.
