Accompanying the Tourism and Cuisine program, Saigon Tourist Group has contributed to spreading and honoring the identity and cultural beauty of Vietnamese people.
Experience beautiful places and delicious food across the S-shaped strip of land
In 2024, through the Travel and Cuisine program broadcast on VTV4 - Vietnam Television, Saigontourist Group and the program's production team left their footprints across provinces and cities, from the studious Nghe An, the sunny and windy Quang Binh and Ninh Thuan, to Ho Chi Minh City, both familiar and strange with Thanh An island commune, down to the lower Mekong Delta with countless famous specialties in Vinh Long.
Coming to Nghe An, the audience can visit the fish wharf market when the sound of roosters crowing still echoes. As the sky gradually brightens, the scene of buying, selling, and transporting gradually becomes more bustling and busy. Hundreds of boats take turns docking at the wharf, fishermen urgently unload fresh catches of fish that are still jumping around.
After that, the program took the audience to the pristine Lu beach, to Lan Chau island - the green pearl of Cua Lo beach. The program crew will forever remember the sweet and fragrant taste of cu do candy and the dish of steamed squid with ginger, sliced into thin strips, and dipped in spicy mustard.
Coming to Quang Tri with its wild beauty, the program introduces Ta Puong waterfall (Trang Ta Puong village, Huong Viet commune, Huong Hoa district), located about 120km from the center of Dong Ha city. Through each vivid film, the audience can feel the wild, cool scenery of the waterfall with many "cooling" activities, thereby bringing a feeling of healing, blending into nature through small frames.
The delegation was also impressed with the moon cake of Dai An Khe village, which is produced day and night to serve people nationwide. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu, chef of Saigon - Dong Ha Hotel (under Saigontourist Group) is also a character that the delegation will remember forever when she directly made delicious Con Co oyster salad, grilled suckling pig and steamed squid with ginger in the cool space next to the hotel swimming pool.
Heading to Ninh Thuan, the program stops at Tanyoli, known as “the only Mongolian steppe in Vietnam”, then explores Bau Truc pottery village - one of the oldest and most ancient pottery villages in Southeast Asia and still preserved to this day.
The shrimp dish of Saigon - Ninh Chu Resort (belonging to Saigontourist Group) with the main ingredients of fried tiger prawns and boiled tiger prawns dipped in pineapple honey sauce also makes the audience flutter when enjoyed on the poetic Ninh Chu beach at night.
Taking a boat to Thanh An Island, located about 50 km from the center of Ho Chi Minh City, the audience can see firsthand how to raise oysters, pick and eat Can Gio mangoes right in the interesting garden.
At Saigon - Can Gio Eco-tourism Area (belonging to Saigontourist Group), Saigon - Can Gio salad has also captivated diners with the main ingredient being kim leaves picked in the forest, growing naturally, mixed with dried lap so fish and shrimp. Kim leaves have a sour and slightly astringent taste, mixed gently with sweet and sour fish sauce and dried lap so fish, fried golden shrimp makes diners' taste buds explode.
Arriving in Vinh Long, impressive footage of the “hundred-year-old” tofu making village helps the audience understand more about the national intangible cultural heritage recently recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. My Hoa tofu making village currently has about 30 households working in the craft, fully supplying the market in and outside the province.
The program crew also took the audience to the craft village of growing and transporting sedge cores to weave mats for export in the saline land of Vung Liem. In the evening, Saigon - Vinh Long Hotel (belonging to Saigontourist Group) treated the audience to delicious and special dishes of tofu rolls with shrimp, catfish, shiitake mushrooms, and grilled loach in bamboo tubes.
