Raphael Varane and Erling Haaland both confident ahead of FA Cup final

Center-back Raphael Varane is confident that MU will face Man City in the FA Cup final at 9pm on June 3, with a plan to stop Erling Haaland and Kevin de Bruyne.

Raphael Varane assigned to "stick" to Erling Haaland?

The Red Devils are determined to stop Man City from winning the treble, which they did in 1999. Therefore, tomorrow night's FA Cup final is even more anticipated.

The winner will both have their second trophy of the season, with United having already won the League Cup and Man City impressively winning the Premier League.

Pep Guardiola has only reached the FA Cup final once since taking charge of Man City in 2016 and won. He will hope to do so again tomorrow, thanks to a squad that is considered the strongest in Europe at the moment.

Stopping Man City's strength will be a big challenge for MU, but Raphael Varane, who will "stick" with Erling Haaland, is not afraid.

The former Real Madrid centre-back revealed how he and his teammates prepared to stop the threat of "bomb king" Haaland (52 goals in 51 matches for Man City) and King of assists De Bruyne:

“We know Erling Haaland is very good but Man City are dangerous in every position. They are very complete.

Haaland has a very good connection with Kevin de Bruyne so United need to pay close attention. That type of pass is very difficult to defend. Therefore, we need to somehow cut the connection between them.

We know we can beat Man City but we need to be consistent for 90 minutes (or even more), knowing that everything can change in a split second.”

MU had to go through 120 minutes when playing Brighton in the semi-final before winning on penalties. Raphael Varane missed that match due to injury.

With Lisandro Martinez still recovering from injury, Varane is expected to play alongside Victor Lindelof. This central defender duo will play an important role in MU's plan to defeat Man City, winning the FA Cup after 7 years.

Erling Haaland sends promise to Man City fans

“We know how much this game means to our fans. We want to make the Blues proud and we will give everything for that,” Erling Haaland assured his fans.

The Norwegian striker scored a hat-trick against the Red Devils and provided two assists in Man City's 6-3 win at the Etihad in the Premier League this season. But Erik ten Hag's team also won 2-1 in the return leg.

Haaland added: “Man City had a great result in the first leg (against United) at the Etihad. It was a very special day because it was my first Manchester derby. But we had a disappointing result at their stadium. We need another great performance to win against United.

I love playing in this team (Man City), with my teammates. We are a great team, everyone has the same ambition and the desire to be the best every day.

After celebrating the Premier League title with the fans, we immediately focused on the match against MU."

The striker, who set a series of records in his first season in the Premier League with Man City, expressed his ambition to win the treble: "It would be crazy to do that. That's why Man City bought me.

I will do everything to make that happen. It is my biggest dream and I hope it will come true.”

But Haaland is also very aware: “It won't be easy. It's two finals and Man City have to play against two strong opponents.

MU will do everything to stop us (from winning the treble) and so will Inter Milan."
