This morning, July 1, in Huong Hiep commune, Dakrong district, the General Statistics Office and the Ethnic Minorities Committee of Quang Tri province jointly organized a launching ceremony to investigate and collect information on the socio-economic situation of 53 ethnic minorities in 2024.

Dakrong district has 13 administrative units, with 78 villages and hamlets, a population of 47,271 people, of which ethnic minorities account for nearly 80% of the total population of the district, mainly Van Kieu and Pa Ko people. In this survey, the district has 12/13 communes, towns and 34 residential areas selected for information collection, and has so far completed the preparation work for the survey.
From today, along with the whole country, Dakrong district will enter the most important stage, deciding the quality of data, which is to collect field information across the district with many indicators related to population, labor, production and business activities, infrastructure, environment...
According to information from the Quang Tri Provincial Statistics Office, the province has 5 districts/36 communes and towns with a total of 93 areas selected for the survey to collect information at households. The preparation work for this survey has been given due attention, from the direction and propaganda work to the mobilization of team leaders and investigators.
44 enumerators were mobilized to compile the list, 90 household questionnaire enumerators, and 34 team leaders will directly visit each household in the survey areas to interview and fill out the CAPI survey form. The survey is under the attention, direction, and leadership of the government from the central to provincial, district, and commune levels. This is a fairly large-scale survey, with a wide range of subjects and survey units, complex and sensitive survey content, and a survey period of many days.

In order for the survey to achieve good results, Director of the Provincial Statistics Office Tran Anh Duong requested the Statistics Office, the Ethnic Minority Department, and the People's Committees of communes and towns in Dakrong district to closely coordinate with Party committees, authorities, sectors, and mass organizations to continue to organize extensive propaganda and explanations so that cadres, party members, and all people clearly understand the purpose and significance of the survey, create an exciting atmosphere in the first days of launching, and respond and coordinate to provide complete, accurate, and timely information.
