Determined to compete for 45 days and nights to speed up the construction progress of Rach Mieu 2 Bridge

Contractors and My Thuan Project Management Board have signed a commitment to compete to speed up the construction progress of Rach Mieu 2 Bridge project.

Attending the event were Mr. Le Bach Guong - Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Branch (Department of Economics - Construction Investment Management under the Ministry of Construction); Director of Tien Giang Province Department of Construction Tran Van Bon, Deputy Director of Ben Tre Province Department of Construction La Thanh Cong, along with representatives of the supervising consultants and contractors implementing the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge Construction Investment Project connecting Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces.

At the launching ceremony, Director of Rach Mieu 2 Bridge Project Management (My Thuan Project Management Board ) Nguyen Nam Phong said: Up to now, the project progress has not disappointed the concern and affection of the leaders of Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces and related units have actively implemented the construction, the total output value has reached 2,670.14 billion VND, reaching 80.84%, exceeding the general progress by more than 4% compared to the plan. In particular, the main bridge - Rach Mieu 2 bridge is exceeding the progress by more than 15%.

The project is expected to be completed on April 30, 2025, with the main cable-stayed bridge of Rach Mieu 2 bridge. On June 30, 2025, all 5/5 bridges on the route (Xoai Hot bridge, My Tho bridge, Tam Son bridge, Ba Lai bridge, Rach Mieu 2 main bridge and Song Ma bridge) will be completed and the approach roads will be basically completed. Strive to complete the entire project on September 2, 2025.

Implementing the Prime Minister's direction to focus on completing key projects, in the joyful atmosphere of the whole country celebrating major holidays, especially the 50th anniversary of the complete liberation of the South and national reunification, My Thuan Project Management Board and construction units unanimously organized the launching ceremony of "45 days and nights to speed up the construction progress of Rach Mieu 2 Bridge Construction Investment Project".

Speaking at the ceremony, Director of My Thuan Project Management Board Tran Van Thi called for: “The construction of Rach Mieu 2 Bridge is determined to be extremely necessary and urgent to ensure the increasing transportation demand on National Highway 60, promote the socio-economic development where the project passes through, as well as the region. In the past time, the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge Construction Investment Project has strictly implemented the direction of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Construction to construct in 3 shifts and 4 teams. Up to now, the project progress has achieved encouraging results with more than 80%. In order to demonstrate the determination to complete the entire project by September 2, 2025, My Thuan Project Management Board and construction units agreed to organize achievements in 45 days and nights to further accelerate the progress, with a more specific goal of concluding the main bridge of Rach Mieu 2 Bridge on April 30, 2025”.

Director of My Thuan Project Management Board Tran Van Thi requested that the departments and offices of My Thuan Project Management Board, consulting units, and contractors in the next 45 days and nights, be determined to successfully carry out a number of tasks: Increase the mobilization of human resources, machinery, materials, and equipment to speed up the construction progress of the bid packages. The main bridge of Rach Mieu 2 Bridge will focus on completing the remaining 3 cable-stayed segments and closing the main bridge on April 30, 2025. The bridges on the route (5 bridges) will strive to be completed before April 30, 2025.

“The road section, within 10km of the road that is ready for unloading and construction, will focus on completing the asphalt concrete paving and auxiliary items, to complete the entire road section by June 30, 2025. The overall project strives to be completed before September 2, 2025, with the goal that on the occasion of September 2 this year, people can travel on the route, on Rach Mieu 2 Bridge. All contractors, supervisory consultants and engineers participating in the project are committed to working continuously, through holidays and days off to complete the above tasks, ensuring progress, quality and labor safety” - Mr. Tran Van Thi expressed his determination.

On the occasion of the launching ceremony, leaders of Ben Tre and Tien Giang provinces sent gifts to encourage the units participating in the project.

At the ceremony, the contractors implementing the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge Construction Project connecting Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces made a speech in response, expressing their determination to devote the best resources to speed up the construction progress and complete the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge project - because this is a project that creates a new development space for the two provinces, with great expectations from the leaders and people of Ben Tre and Tien Giang provinces.

After the launch, contractors and My Thuan Project Management Board signed a commitment to compete to speed up the construction progress of the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge Construction Project connecting Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces.
