This draft law proposes to increase the age of active service (retirement age) of military officers from lieutenant to colonel from 1 to 4 years; the general rank remains at 60 years old for men, and increases it from 55 to 60 years old for women. Previously, in a document responding to voters' petitions, the Ministry of National Defense said that the draft law amends and supplements the basic positions of officers, increases the age of active service of officers so that upon retirement they will basically receive the maximum salary as prescribed by the Law on Social Insurance. At the same time, this amendment also aims to overcome difficulties and inadequacies in practice regarding regimes and policies (such as housing policies) for officers; ensuring feasibility, conformity with the legal system and the nature and tasks of the military as a special labor sector. It is expected that on November 5, the National Assembly will discuss this draft law in the hall and is expected to pass it on November 27.
