Coach Philippe Troussier is training the Vietnam U.23 team at the Youth Football Training Center (Hanoi) to prepare for the 2024 U.23 Asian qualifiers. In addition to many new faces in the U.23 team, the French coach also called some members of the Vietnam team to gather early to practice with young players.
These are 4 players from clubs in the relegation group, who completed the season last week, including Que Ngoc Hai, Nguyen Tuan Anh, Dinh Thanh Binh and Nguyen Tien Linh.
At the training session on the morning of August 26, Que Ngoc Hai shared about Coach Troussier's idea of focusing on 4 members of the Vietnamese team.
Que Ngoc Hai is always an important player of the Vietnam team.
"This training session is mainly to prepare for the friendly match with Palestine on September 11 at Thien Truong Stadium. The 4 players of Group B of the V-League have finished competing, so the head coach summoned them early to maintain training intensity. The players in Group A will gather in the next few days when the V-League ends. I see that the players are still actively practicing, because the head coach gave the players a break of more than 10 days after the V-League, so the players' spirit and preparation are comfortable. The important thing is that being called up to the Vietnam national team is always a great source of pride, so the players are always ready for the task ahead," Que Ngoc Hai emphasized.
The central defender born in 1993 affirmed that compared to the previous training session, the players have improved and integrated faster with the requirements of coach Troussier.
"Each coach has his own philosophy, requirements, and playing style for the team in general and for each position in particular. Everyone is trying to adapt to Coach Troussier's tactics. Compared to previous training sessions, the players are gradually getting better and adapting very quickly. I think in this training session as well as in the upcoming training sessions, the whole team will adapt faster and more smoothly to the criteria set by the head coach," Que Ngoc Hai analyzed.
Que Ngoc Hai is experienced.
Talking about the requirement for goalkeepers to be good at footwork to play ball control, Que Ngoc Hai shared: "Each coach has a different philosophy and as a professional player, a player of the national team, one must always try, improve and adapt to the tactics that the coach sets out through each training session. I think goalkeeper Van Lam also plays footwork quite well."
The former SLNA midfielder believes that training with U.23 Vietnam will bring positive energy to the national team players, while helping young players learn more useful experiences.
"When we join the Vietnam national team, no matter who we train with, they are still our teammates. Training with young players will bring positive things. At that time, our energy and thinking will also be younger, helping us remember the times when we first joined the national team.
In addition, I can also help the young players as the head coach said. Mr. Troussier said that because there are many new players in this training session, I and the remaining players of the Vietnam team need to try to help and instruct them so that they can get used to the training intensity as well as the tactics that the coach wants to convey to the players," Que Ngoc Hai added.
Que Ngoc Hai has left SLNA
The central defender born in 1993 also encouraged the U.23 Vietnam players before the final match of the U.23 Southeast Asia against U.23 Indonesia at 8:00 p.m. today, August 26.
"I just want to give words of encouragement to U.23 Vietnam. Through the matches I have watched, they are playing better and better. I would like to send my best wishes to the coaching staff and players of U.23 Vietnam to always be confident, lucky and win the championship at the upcoming U.23 Southeast Asian tournament," Que Ngoc Hai affirmed.
Finally, Que Ngoc Hai refused to answer about the future: "This is the time to focus on the Vietnamese national team, so I will not share personal matters. My future destination will be determined in a few weeks."
