Earlier, the Russian government press agency announced that Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin will visit Beijing and Shanghai on May 23 and 24.
Commenting on the visit, Mr. Uong Van Binh stated: “The cooperative relationship between China and Russia - the largest neighbors and countries with emerging markets - is very strong and has great potential.”
He noted that within the framework of Prime Minister Mishustin's visit, the two countries "will hold an in-depth exchange of opinions on the topics of practical cooperation and issues of mutual interest."
According to Mr. Uong Van Ban, Beijing hopes that the Russian Prime Minister's visit to China "will create strong momentum for the recovery of the global economy".
During talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Qiang, Mishustin will discuss cooperation in the fields of industry, energy, transport and agriculture.
The visit takes place in the context of Moscow and Beijing continuously strengthening cooperation in many fields in recent years.
Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Moscow in March 2023 for talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The two leaders hailed a “new era” in bilateral relations and discussed Beijing’s proposals to help end the conflict in Ukraine.
Russia and China agreed on an “unlimited” strategic partnership in February 2022. The two sides have since repeatedly affirmed the strength of their relationship, with bilateral trade turnover increasing.
