Previously, at 1:28 p.m. on September 20, Lieutenant Colonel NMH was driving a car with license plate 20A - 422.XX and was tested for alcohol by a working group of the Ministry of Public Security and Thai Nguyen Provincial Police, and found to have violated level 1 (not exceeding 0.25 milligrams/1 liter of breath). The working group drew up a record of violation of the People's Public Security Regulations against Lieutenant Colonel NMH.
Previously, from 19-20, the working group of the Ministry of Public Security coordinated with the Traffic Police Department and Thai Nguyen Provincial Police to simultaneously check alcohol concentration on a number of roads and streets in Thai Nguyen City. In 2 days, the working group discovered and recorded 127 violations when driving vehicles with alcohol concentration exceeding the permitted regulations.
For people who violate alcohol concentration, the Traffic Police Department will hand over to the Traffic Police Department, Thai Nguyen Provincial Police for direct handling. For cases of violations by officials, civil servants... the Traffic Police Department will hand over and request the competent authorities to continue verifying information of the working unit for handling according to the law.
Regarding the information that some officials and civil servants were fined for violating alcohol concentration, Mr. Tran Trong Chung, Chief of Office of Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee, said that he had not received specific information about the violations. "We will send someone to contact Thai Nguyen Provincial Police to verify the officials and civil servants violating alcohol concentration," Mr. Chung said.
According to statistics from the Traffic Police Department, Thai Nguyen Provincial Police, since the beginning of the year, this locality has detected and handled 9,185 cases of driving vehicles violating alcohol concentration.
How are police officers and soldiers who violate alcohol concentration handled?
According to the provisions of Point e, Clause 11, Article 5 of Decree 100/2019/ND-CP on administrative sanctions for violations in the field of road and railway traffic, drivers of cars and similar vehicles violating the alcohol concentration but not exceeding 50 milligrams/100 ml of blood or not exceeding 0.25 milligrams/1 liter of breath shall be fined from 6 to 8 million VND; have their driving license revoked for 10 to 12 months.
For police officers and soldiers, in addition to being fined for violations as mentioned above, they will also be disciplined by not being considered for the emulation title of the year if they violate the regulations on drinking alcohol, beer and alcoholic substances before, during working hours, lunch break of working days, on-duty days, on-duty hours according to regulations in Clause 3, Article 9 of Circular 02/2021/TT-BCA.
