Fidel's visit to the liberated area of southern Vietnam in September 1973 and his immortal words "For Vietnam, Cuba is willing to sacrifice even its own blood" will forever be remembered by the Vietnamese people with all their respect. Vietnam and Cuba, united, will definitely win!"

Earlier, on the afternoon of April 15 (local time), Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang visited and laid flowers at the Monument to Cuban National Hero José Martí in the capital Havana.
The José Martí Memorial is a complex of unique Cuban architectural works, including the José Martí Monument, the Five-Winged Tower and surrounding auxiliary works. The tower is 112 m high, with an elevator running 90 m high and a staircase with 579 steps. The top of the Tower is the highest point in the city of La Habana. In front of the Tower is a full-body statue of the national hero José Martí, made of 52 blocks of white marble, 18 m high.
The José Martí Monument and Revolution Square are built on the largest and highest hill in the center of the capital Havana, a historical site where many important events of the Cuban revolution took place over the years.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang and the Vietnamese Government delegation took a souvenir photo at the Monument to Cuban National Hero José Martí.
President Fidel Castro once said: "José Martí was the first Cuban and Latin American to discover Vietnam."
Looking back to the roots of the friendship between the two countries, Cuban friends often mention the national hero Martí. In the article "A walk in the land of the Annamese" published in the magazine "Tuoi Vang", published in 1889, Martí described a rich and beautiful country with hard-working and brave residents who had confronted and gloriously defeated foreign invaders. At the end of the article, with an optimistic and admiring view, the author affirmed that although currently living under the brutal yoke of colonial slavery, the Vietnamese people would certainly rise up again and win.
On the same afternoon, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang will leave the capital Havana, successfully concluding his official friendship visit to Cuba and beginning his official friendship visit to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela./.
