On the afternoon of December 12, at the Government Headquarters, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha chaired a meeting of the Vietnam sub-committee of the Vietnam-Russia Intergovernmental Committee on economic-trade and scientific-technical cooperation.
At the meeting, leaders of ministries and branches reported on the implementation of the master plan for cooperation development between the two countries until 2030 and some bilateral cooperation contents since the 25th Session (September 2024) to date; agreed issues, as well as difficulties and obstacles in reviewing, agreeing, and implementing roadmaps and cooperation projects in industry, agriculture, trade, health, tourism, labor, education, etc.; expanding cooperation in the fields of oil and gas, energy; the project to build a Russian high school, Moscow House in Hanoi.
The Deputy Prime Minister requested ministries and sectors to continue to closely coordinate with each other and Russian partners to effectively implement cooperation agreements agreed upon at the 25th Session, determined to remove difficulties and obstacles arising in the process of implementing cooperation programs and projects; promote the role of the Intergovernmental Committee in promoting cooperation between the two countries in general, and in the fields of economics, trade and science and technology in particular.
According to the Minutes of the 25th meeting of the Vietnam - Russia Intergovernmental Committee on Economic-Trade and Scientific-Technological Cooperation, the two sides agreed on more than 100 items in more than 20 areas of cooperation, determined to promote relations in many fields from politics-diplomacy, economics-trade-investment, agriculture, industry, energy-oil and gas, information-communications, science-education, culture-sports; promote tourism, people-to-people exchange.
Notably, the two sides continued to affirm and wish to strengthen political trust, increase the exchange of high-level delegations and all levels; increase import and export turnover, achieve balanced and sustainable bilateral trade, including creating conditions for agricultural products and pharmaceuticals to access each other's markets; increase the teaching of Vietnamese and Russian in the two countries, maintain scholarships for Vietnamese students as well as attract Russian students to study and research in Vietnam; create favorable conditions for granting visas for Vietnamese citizens to work and travel in the Russian Federation. The Russian side acknowledged Vietnam's request to create more favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community in Russia.
