(NLDO) - Minister of Agriculture and Environment Do Duc Duy praised the leaders of the units under the two ministries for sacrificing personal interests to facilitate the merger.
On the afternoon of March 1, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment held a conference to announce the National Assembly's Resolution on the establishment of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (on the basis of merging the two ministries of Agriculture - Rural Development and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment) and the decision on personnel work.

Minister of Agriculture and Environment Do Duc Duy emphasized that this is a very meaningful milestone, marking the time of establishment and official operation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.
Minister Do Duc Duy said he was personally very moved when the Politburo assigned him to introduce him to the Prime Minister for approval by the National Assembly and the President to appoint him as the first Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.
Minister Do Duc Duy expressed his gratitude for the attention of the leaders of the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, the National Assembly, the Government, and the Prime Minister. He also expressed his gratitude to Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha for directly directing the consolidation work in the past time, and at the same time arranging time to attend and give speeches to direct, encourage, and motivate the leaders of the Ministry and its affiliated units.

He also expressed his gratitude to all cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, who have made great efforts and overcome all difficulties and challenges in the past time to complete the restructuring and reorganization of the apparatus, so that today the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment officially comes into operation according to Decree No. 35 of the Government.
"On behalf of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, I commend the leaders of the units under the two ministries for their support, sacrificing personal interests, and putting the common interest first to create favorable conditions for the arrangement, reorganization, and consolidation of the positions of heads and leaders of the units under the ministries after the merger," said Minister Do Duc Duy.
According to the head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, this is a very difficult, sensitive, and complicated task that directly affects each individual in each organization; therefore, it always requires solidarity, unity, consensus, and high determination from each party member, cadre, civil servant, and public employee, ready to sacrifice personal interests for the common interests of the agency, unit, industry, and country.

The first Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment informed that during the merger, a total of 22 heads of units under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment became deputies of the new Ministry.
He assessed that this was the result of close coordination, solidarity, and consensus for the common interest in the process of implementing the project to merge the two ministries, ensuring the requirements under the direction of the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, the Government, and the Prime Minister, putting the new ministry into operation as required.
Mr. Do Duc Duy said that the Ministry's leaders pledged to unite with the Ministry's collective, work together to overcome difficulties and challenges, and strive to comprehensively complete the targets and tasks of 2025 and the entire term.

At the event, Minister Do Duc Duy also proposed 9 tasks, the first of which is to urgently and quickly stabilize the organization of the Ministry after the reorganization; at the same time, perfect the organization and staff of the units under the Ministry; continue to focus on building and perfecting institutions, policies, laws, administrative procedure reform, and improving the investment and business environment.
Along with that, promptly remove difficulties and obstacles in institutions and policies to clear bottlenecks, to mobilize and effectively use natural resources, especially land resources, to serve the socio-economic development of the country.
