After 12 days of release, Tran Thanh's movie "The Four Guardians" has officially reached the 300 billion VND revenue mark.
According to Box Office Vietnam statistics, as of the afternoon of February 10, the film The Guardian Quartet Tran Thanh's film has earned 300.4 billion VND in revenue. Specifically, the film achieved this achievement after 12 days of release.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Nu's house (2023) took only 11 days to reach this milestone, while Tomorrow (2024) is only about 9 days. This shows that the revenue growth rate of the Four Guardians is slower.
Sharing on his personal page, Tran Thanh expressed his joy and thanked the audience: "We thank the audience a thousand times for their love! The journey of the Four Guardians is a bit more difficult than the previous films! But luckily the audience still loves Tran Xin, the film crew, and Bao Thu! I don't know what to say to express my gratitude!!! I love you all."
Currently, the film's revenue shows signs of slowing down. The Guardian Quartet is currently ranked 3rd on the box office chart. Many opinions say that the reason comes from the heated debate about the quality of the film, poor word of mouth effect and unnecessary noise of the crew on social networks.
At this rate, Tran Thanh's film is predicted to stop at the 400 billion mark, and will hardly surpass the achievements of the two previous films. Tomorrow and Mrs. Nu's house.
The Guardian Quartet is the 4th film work of Tran Thanh, with the content revolving around the story of the young couple Quoc Anh (played by Quoc Anh) and Quynh Anh (played by Tieu Vy). Quoc Anh is a busy bank employee, while Quynh Anh is a housewife, often livestreaming to interact with fans. Because of many differences in personality and thinking, the two often have conflicts.
The incident happened when Karen (played by Ky Duyen) - a business partner of Quoc Anh's company - appeared, turning the couple's life upside down. Suspecting that her boyfriend was having an affair, Quynh Anh asked for help from her close friends (Uyen An, Le Giang, Tran Thanh, Le Duong Bao Lam) to "rekindle" their relationship and "expose" the "third party".
After its release, the film received mixed reviews from experts and audiences. Many people said that this was one of the "worst" films directed by Tran Thanh.
Not avoiding conflicting opinions, Tran Thanh said that he and his team are always ready to listen to all opinions to improve. However, he tactfully reminded that if the audience comes to the theater with a critical mindset, even Oscar-winning works will inevitably have points that make viewers dissatisfied.
