Within the framework of the Vietnam International Food Exhibition 2023 - Vietnam Foodexpo 2023, on November 22, 2023, at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), Ho Chi Minh City, the Trade Promotion Agency - Ministry of Industry and Trade organized a conference on "Application of information technology and digital transformation in trade promotion with the theme: Vietnamese agricultural products and food in the digital age".

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai said that with the theme "Vietnamese agricultural products and food in the digital age", this year's conference on applying information technology and digital transformation in trade promotion gathered leading domestic and international speakers and experts. The conference covered many topics on Vietnam's market development strategy and potential agricultural export products; new methods of trade promotion in the digital environment... to support Vietnamese enterprises to promote the consumption of agricultural products, increase the added value of exported goods....
At the conference, experts, speakers and businesses also shared, had in-depth dialogues, and multi-dimensional perspectives on promoting trade in the digital environment to boost transactions in the agricultural and food industry. At the same time, they shared methods and solutions for businesses to proactively approach new technologies and keep up with the trends of the times.
According to experts, despite facing many challenges, in general, Vietnam's export prospects, especially the agricultural and food industry to major markets, are always assessed positively. Many businesses have initially applied information technology and digital transformation such as: Expanding sales channels, increasing investment in digital technology, researching and developing products and building brands to promote trade and export growth.
Within the framework of the conference, a signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement took place between the Center for Information Technology Application and Digital Transformation in Trade Promotion (Department of Trade Promotion) and TikTok Vietnam to specify activities to support businesses, cooperatives, and business households in building and developing product and business brands and promoting exports.
