Vietnam attends Investment Summit in Madhya Pradesh, India

Recently, in Bohpal City, Madhya Pradesh State, India, the "Global Investment Summit (GIS) 2025" took place. The Vietnamese delegation attended the conference.


This is the largest event of the Madhya Pradesh State Government to promote investment and business cooperation between enterprises within and outside India, with the participation of many large business representatives, investors and senior leaders from both India and internationally.

This is an important opportunity for Vietnam to tap into the potential of cooperation with Madhya Pradesh, also known as the “Heart of India” due to its central location on the map, the second largest state in India in terms of area of ​​308,252 km² and the fifth largest state in India in terms of population with around 90 million people, especially in the context of the increasingly strong relations between the two countries. The conference recorded investment commitments worth a total of ₹22,50,657 crore (approximately US$270 billion), expected to create 1,343,468 job opportunities, contributing to the sustainable economic growth of the state.

In his opening remarks, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Madhya Pradesh is one of the leading states in India in terms of agriculture and minerals, and is also blessed with a river system, and stated that the state has the potential to become one of the top five states in India by GDP. In just two decades, the state has become one of the leading states in the country in terms of investment, and is now one of the leading states in India’s electric vehicle revolution. As of January 2025, around 200,000 electric vehicles were registered in Madhya Pradesh, reflecting a growth of around 90 percent, which proves that Madhya Pradesh is becoming a great destination for new manufacturing industries.

In terms of infrastructure development, the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, connecting the two major cities, passes through Madhya Pradesh extensively, providing quick connectivity to Mumbai’s ports and North Indian markets. Madhya Pradesh currently has a road network of over 500,000 km; Madhya Pradesh’s industrial corridors are connected by modern highways, ensuring rapid growth in the logistics sector. Expansion and modernization of Madhya Pradesh’s extensive air, road and rail networks are also underway.

The Prime Minister stressed that the state government is supporting this infrastructure with modern policies and special industrial infrastructure. Noting that Madhya Pradesh has over 300 industrial parks and investment zones spread over thousands of acres being developed in Pithampur, Ratlam and Dewas, the State has a huge potential to provide better returns to investors in Madhya Pradesh.

Prime Minister Modi stressed that “now is the right time to invest and increase investment in Madhya Pradesh” and announced 18 investment incentives, including: Madhya Pradesh Industrial Policy 2025, policies to support Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), policies to promote exports, logistics, startups, policies to support electric vehicle (EV) and renewable energy production, policies to encourage investment in healthcare, aviation, film, tourism and global competence centers (GCC).

The GIS event showcased manufacturing capabilities and investment opportunities in Madhya Pradesh, with a special focus on sectors such as infrastructure, energy, textiles, tourism, electric vehicles and healthcare. The conference was an ideal platform for government-to-business (G2B) meetings as well as business-to-business (B2B) networking.

The conference has attracted special attention from the Government of India and top Indian business leaders. Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Mangubhai Chhaganbhai Patel, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Mohan Yadav and many senior officials attended the inaugural session.

The GIS Conference has provided an important opportunity for Vietnam and Madhya Pradesh to enhance investment and business cooperation. In the context of Madhya Pradesh emerging as a new global industrial hub with preferential policies to create a favorable investment environment, while promoting Madhya Pradesh as an attractive destination for strategic industries. This event not only promotes economic relations between the two countries but also creates opportunities for cooperation and sustainable development in the future.
