Developing industrial parks associated with stronger innovation

Also attending the ceremony were Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Nguyen Hoa Binh; Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha; Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong.

VSIP Quang Ngai was started in 2013, with a scale of about 660 hectares, a total investment of about 2,940 billion VND, and has now met the standards of a professional, green and environmentally friendly industrial park. Along with VSIP Industrial Park, by 2016, VSIP Quang Ngai Urban - Service Area was formed with full amenities.

Of the 36 projects with a total investment capital of more than 1 billion USD invested in VSIP Quang Ngai, 26 projects have come into operation, including many large projects of investors from the US, Japan, Korea, Belgium, Thailand, China, in the fields of exporting medical equipment, electrical equipment, food, beverages, interior and exterior furniture, services, garments, leather shoes, automobile tires, etc. It is expected that when all 36 investment projects come into operation, they will create about 53,000 jobs.

At the ceremony, the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province also announced Decision No. 1664 of the Prime Minister approving the investment policy for the project to invest in construction and business of infrastructure of VSIP II Quang Ngai Industrial Park (phase 1), located in Dung Quat Economic Zone, Quang Ngai province with a scale of nearly 500 hectares, total capital of over 3,700 billion VND.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Vo Van Thuong congratulated Quang Ngai on its many positive results after 10 years of putting VSIP into operation, and congratulated the province on having the Prime Minister approve the investment policy for VSIP II industrial park. This will be the 18th VSIP in the chain of VSIPs in our country, continuing to promote the pillar of trade and investment cooperation between Vietnam and Singapore.

After 10 years of operation, VSIP Quang Ngai has met expectations and made important contributions to the development of the province. With the Prime Minister approving the investment policy for the VSIP II Quang Ngai industrial park project, the President expects that in the next 10 years, VSIP II will attract more large investors, with higher added value, not only as an industrial park but also associated with stronger innovation.

Appreciating VSIP Quang Ngai for creating jobs for about 29,000 local workers in the past time, the President expected that with the new development orientation and vision in the coming time, VSIP will not only continue to create jobs but also help workers have higher incomes; hoping that all levels and sectors, from the central to local levels, must pay attention to reforming administrative procedures and improving the business environment, so that investors can feel secure, develop production and business, and bring higher value.
