Currently, on the shelves of traditional markets and large distribution systems in Phan Thiet, Vietnamese goods are dominating over imported goods. This shows that consumer awareness has changed, not only the movement "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" but domestic goods have become an indispensable choice for consumers.
Set up distribution channels
Ms. Phan Thi Thanh Mai - Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phan Thiet City, Head of the Steering Committee of the Campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" of Phan Thiet City said: 2023 is the National Tourism Year, at the same time, the expressway system Dau Giay - Phan Thiet, Phan Thiet - Vinh Hao is put into operation, making the number of visitors to Phan Thiet for sightseeing and shopping bustling. Purchasing power at the markets on weekends increases, especially seafood and seafood products.
To improve the competitiveness of products, services, and build brands, local businesses have continuously expanded distribution channels, promoted their roles and responsibilities in improving quality, committed to caring for and protecting consumer rights. At the same time, helping consumers better understand their rights, at fairs and exhibitions in and outside the province, businesses have implemented cooperation agreements in linking and exchanging products and goods. In addition, on holidays and Tet, Toan Huong Fish Sauce Enterprises, Hai Nam Company Limited, Ngoc Uyen Enterprises... proactively brought dried fish, fish sauce, rice paper cakes, green rice flakes, dragon fruit wine to rural areas and reduced prices to stimulate consumption, thereby promoting high-quality Vietnamese goods.
In particular, in implementing the Project to develop the domestic market in conjunction with the Campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" in the period of 2014 - 2020, businesses and fish sauce production companies in the area have continuously expanded their distribution channels, reaching closer to consumers. In the supermarket system located in the area, domestic and provincial goods always have a high proportion. For retail channels and traditional markets, the proportion of Vietnamese goods chosen by businesses and traders to introduce products to consumers and are the main items in business.
Promote propaganda, change awareness
In 2023, propaganda work was promoted to help union members, association members and people understand the policy and actively respond to the campaign. Ms. Phan Thi Thanh Mai assessed: The content of propaganda and mobilization has been integrated into people's meetings, neighborhood and village activities, activities of mass organizations, clubs, training conferences, activities in schools... At the same time, the Steering Committee coordinated with the People's Committees of wards and communes to mobilize and guide the management boards of local markets and Phan Thiet wholesale markets, and business households to promote Vietnamese goods to encourage consumers.
Unions and member organizations such as the Women's Union have linked the campaign with the movements "Women nationwide practice food hygiene and safety for family and community health", "Family of 5 no, 3 clean", the contest "Women starting a business - promoting local resources"; the Farmers' Association launched a registration campaign associated with the movement "Good farmers"; the Youth Union launched the program "Vietnamese youth accompanying Vietnam"... Thereby contributing to the formation of product linkage chains, cooperative models in communes building new rural areas, distributing goods to fair programs, food stalls at the Cau Ngu Festival, Street Festival. In particular, production establishments in the city have participated in 13 exhibitions and fairs introducing typical domestic products. The OCOP program in 2023 has 20 participants participating in the contest with 47 products.
According to consumers, the quality of Vietnamese goods is increasingly improving in terms of design and style. Therefore, the habit of buying Vietnamese goods of urban consumers is more vibrant. As for enterprises, they strive to practice thrift and combat waste in production; compete to produce many goods with high quality and competitiveness; meet the consumption needs of all people, contribute to stabilizing and promoting the local socio-economy to achieve the goals set out in the Resolution of the Party Congress.
