This morning, April 9, at the Provincial Library, the Organizing Committee of the Provincial Reading Culture Ambassador Contest; the Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a launching ceremony for the Quang Tri Provincial Reading Culture Ambassador Contest 2024 and opened the exhibition of documents and arrangement of art book models.
To concretize the goal of encouraging and developing reading culture in the whole society, in recent years, the Provincial People's Committee has directed the organization of the Reading Culture Ambassador contest. This is a useful playground for students from primary to high school in the province.

Through 5 times of organization, the contest has contributed to forming reading habits and skills for students, thereby arousing passion and promoting reading movement in the young generation. Encouraging sharing and spreading the love of reading contributes to developing reading culture in schools and communities. The contest organizers received 63,241 entries from 721 schools.
Many entries were carefully invested, with good book reviews. Outstanding were the entries for comics, plays, short stories, clips... which were invested in rich and appropriate content, images, and materials, and had very good presentation skills. There were 248 entries that won provincial prizes; 25 entries that won national prizes.
Based on the results achieved, the Provincial People's Committee continues to direct the implementation of the Quang Tri Province Reading Culture Ambassador Contest in 2024 with higher requirements on scale, quantity and quality. In addition to the participants being students from primary to high school, this contest has expanded to include students.

Candidates are required to have the mindset and skills to appreciate the work, and inspire reading in the community. At the same time, they must develop initiatives and action plans to develop a reading culture for themselves and the community, especially for students in remote areas, ethnic minority children, and children with disabilities. Each candidate will be a reading culture ambassador with the task of inspiring reading habits, interests, and skills to everyone.
Also this morning, the Provincial Library coordinated with the Department of Education and Training of Dong Ha City to organize a contest to display documents and arrange art book models with the theme "Join hands to build a peaceful world"; a story-telling contest based on books with the theme "We love peace".
Participating in the contest, 14 schools in Dong Ha city have prepared carefully, thoughtfully, and with quality, with unique architectural and artistic models through the arrangement of books. The story-telling contest based on books brings listeners a lot of useful knowledge about history, leaders, national heroes, and love for peace...
This is a meaningful activity in response to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in the province and towards the Festival for Peace in 2024.
