Consider reformed opera as "flesh and blood"
Although residing in the US, Meritorious Artist Bao Quoc and his wife still regularly return to Vietnam every year to celebrate Tet with their children and grandchildren. For him, there is no place like "Vietnamese Tet". Every time he returns to his hometown, the male artist still takes time to participate in some artistic activities with his colleagues.
"My dear colleagues invited me to participate in cải lương programs, but I couldn't bear to refuse. Cải lương has become ingrained in my blood. As long as I am healthy, I still want to stand on stage and meet the audience and colleagues," he confided.

Although living far from home, Meritorious Artist Bao Quoc always follows the art situation in his country. He is happy to see that Cai Luong is still respected, although it is no longer in its golden age, there are still young artists trying to preserve and develop this art form.
At the age of 76, his greatest wish is that Cai Luong will have a chance to strongly revive, continuing to conquer audiences like in its golden days.
He also did not hide his pride when his children and grandchildren all grew up, had stable careers and always maintained the family reputation. In particular, he was very happy when his daughter Hong Loan and grandson Gia Bao followed the artistic tradition.
The male artist confided: "I do not force my children to follow this profession, because art needs to come from true passion. If you do not have love for the profession, it will be difficult to go the long way."
