Realizing the dream of housing for low-income people

For many low-income workers, owning a social house is always a difficult problem, not easy to do. Therefore, having access to preferential loans under Decree No. 100 of the Government on the development and management of social housing through the Social Policy Bank has been helping thousands of households realize their dream of "settling down, having a career", improving their lives.

After nearly 15 years of having to live in the unit's dormitory and then rent a room, in 2021, the family of Ms. Le Thi Lien, an army officer, Brigade 204, Artillery Corps, was able to own a social housing apartment in Khai Minh apartment complex, Khai Quang ward, Vinh Yen city. The apartment was purchased from the couple's savings and a preferential loan of 500 million VND from the Social Policy Bank of Vinh Phuc province .

Like Ms. Lien's family, Mr. Hoang Van Luyen's family in Khai Minh apartment building also had access to a loan source accounting for up to 70% of the value of the social housing apartment, helping his family have more funds to buy a house to stabilize their lives.

Implementing the social housing loan program according to Decree 100 of the Government, currently in the whole province, there are more than 610 customers receiving loans with outstanding loans of nearly 280 billion VND. With a maximum loan of 80% of the value of the contract to buy or lease-purchase social housing; the maximum loan term is not more than 25 years from the date of disbursement of the first loan, it has created an important driving force to improve the lives of workers in industrial parks and many people.

Currently, the province is speeding up the progress of implementing social housing projects according to the Project to invest in building at least 1 million social housing apartments for low-income people and industrial park workers in the period of 2021-2030, so the demand for preferential loans to buy social housing from people is very large.

According to the Provincial Social Policy Bank, with the capital of 30 billion VND allocated by the Central Government in 2025 for social housing loans, the province needs more counterpart capital to meet people's needs.
