According to Thanh Nien Newspaper reporters, during the recent 30.4 - 1.5 holiday, the number of tourists flocking to Hai Phong to Do Son tourist area for relaxation and swimming reached tens of thousands of people. Notably, Do Son Area 2 beach was packed with people, with almost no space, even though the sea water this season is very murky.
On May 1, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Do Son District Pham Hoang Tuan said that during the past 5 days of the holiday, Do Son tourist area welcomed over 500,000 domestic and foreign visitors for entertainment and relaxation. With such a large number of visitors, according to Mr. Tuan, it is understandable that the beach is crowded.
Regarding the reason why Vung Huong public beach stretches over 1 km, has clear blue water, modern shower system but few visitors, according to Mr. Tuan, partly because tourists do not have information, thinking that entering Vung Huong beach requires a fee, others do not like to swim at beaches without waves; the majority of visitors like to swim in places with waves so they choose Khu 2 beach.
Tourist Nguyen Van Hai from Hung Yen province shared that he did not know about Vung Huong beach, it was just a coincidence. Specifically, according to Mr. Hai, on the morning of April 30, he took his wife and children to Do Son to relax, enjoy the sea breeze, and avoid the heat.
When arriving, he saw that the beach at Doan 295 and the beach at Khu 2 had murky water and a lot of people swimming, so he decided to find a room first, then take everyone around to explore Do Son. During the journey of discovery, Hai's family discovered Vung Huong beach, which was beautiful, had clear blue water and was safe for children to swim.
According to the People's Committee of Do Son District, Vung Huong public beach is an alluvial land and water surface in Vung Bun, Van Huong Ward, Do Son District. Previously, the entire area of land and water surface was managed by the People's Committee of Van Huong Ward and was not assigned to any individual or organization for use. During the investment and construction process of the Dragon Hill International Tourist Area, Van Huong Company proposed to implement a project to renovate the entire alluvial land and water surface mentioned above into a public beach.
Van Huong Company then conducted a survey, research and established a project to renovate a public beach with an area of 39.1 hectares, with a total investment of VND 208,838 billion, to meet the needs of about 2,000 tourists/day. The project implementation period is from 2021 - 2022.
After completion, Van Huong Company will hand over the site to the locality for management and use to serve the community's interests; at the same time, it will add a public beach to the locality to serve tourists when they come to Do Son.
