After that, his family's income gradually improved and is now a near-poor household in Dai Dien commune. The small, dark-skinned man with a deep voice expressed his joy on the day of the groundbreaking ceremony of the charity house from the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province. "I was supported with 60 million VND to build a house, I am very excited and secure in my future life," said Mr. Mac Van Son.
In Mr. Son's situation, owning a solid house is his lifelong dream. Because of poverty and lack of land, life for Mr. Son and his wife and two daughters fell into difficult circumstances. Since then, many conflicts occurred, the couple separated and he remained single, not marrying anyone else because he was afraid that poverty would make others suffer...
On the day of the groundbreaking ceremony for the charity house for Mr. Mac Van Son, Mr. Son's little daughter came to celebrate with her father. The older daughter, who works far away, heard the good news and also promised to give her father money to complete the house. Mr. Son's younger sister came to help her brother receive guests and clean up. A joyful atmosphere filled Mr. Son's voice and eyes.
Talking about the significance of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province, Mr. Cu Thanh Son - Head of Khu Pho Hamlet, Dai Dien Commune said: "Currently, in Khu Pho Hamlet, there are 3 households with housing difficulties. Of which, Mr. Mac Van Son's household is building new houses, another household is repairing and another household does not have a land certificate so we left it and cannot build during this period. The locality will create conditions for households building houses to borrow capital to contribute to completing the house and stabilizing their lives."
In the first phase of 2025, the province plans to build houses for 1,031 households with meritorious services, poor households, near-poor households and disadvantaged households. The total cost is about 51.96 billion VND from the budget and mobilized resources.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of phase 1 housing in the province in 2025, held in Thanh Phu district in early March 2025, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Be Muoi emphasized: “To successfully implement the program, we cannot rely solely on the efforts of the government or a few organizations. This is a political task, requiring the participation of the entire political system, the entire population, comprehensively and widely. As the Prime Minister called for: "Whoever has something to contribute, whoever has merit contributes, whoever has property contributes, whoever has a lot contributes a lot, whoever has little contributes a little". Each person, each organization, based on their functions and tasks, should promote their full capacity, responsibility, be proactive, creative, and flexible to join hands and contribute to creating a widespread, substantive, and effective movement, aiming to successfully achieve the goal of completely eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for people in the province by the end of 2025".
Each newly built house is supported with 60 million VND; each repaired house is supported with 30 million VND. Mr. Mac Van Son's household is one of 10 households receiving support from the Southern Power Corporation, with a total amount of 600 million VND (to build 10 houses).
