BDK.VN - On the morning of March 26, 2025, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Be Muoi - Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for the implementation of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in Ben Tre province chaired a meeting to listen to a progress report on the implementation of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province. Attending were representatives of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, Department of Finance, Department of Construction; leaders of the People's Committees of districts and cities.

Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Be Muoi - Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for the implementation of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in Ben Tre province chaired the meeting.

Deputy Director of the Department of Construction Tran Van Trung said: Implementing the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, in 2024, the province supported the construction of 1,802 houses for meritorious people and poor households (250 meritorious people's households, 1,552 poor households) with a total mobilization budget of 100.5 billion VND.

According to Decision No. 781/QD-UBND dated March 13, 2025 of the Provincial People's Committee, in 2025, the total number of households in need of support for construction and repair for meritorious people, poor households, near-poor households and households in difficult circumstances in the province is 2,101 households (1,462 new households, 639 households repaired) with a support budget of 106.89 billion VND.

In phase 1, the number of households in need of support for house construction and repair is 1,031 households (701 new construction and 330 repair households) with a support budget of 51.96 billion VND. In phase 2, the number of households in need of support for house construction and repair is 1,070 households (761 new construction households and 309 repair households) with a support budget of 54.93 billion VND.

As of March 22, 2025, the whole province has started construction on 123 houses, of which 41 houses have completed the foundation, 15 houses have completed the wall frame, and 1 house has been completed.

At the meeting, districts and cities quickly reported on the implementation of the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the locality; difficulties and obstacles in the implementation process related to legal procedures, land; and the allocation of implementation funds.

In preparation for the meeting of the Steering Committee for the implementation of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province scheduled to take place on March 28, 2025, concluding the meeting, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Be Muoi requested the standing agency of the Steering Committee (Department of Construction) to review and complete the report, ensuring the specificity and accuracy of data, implementation progress, difficulties and obstacles of each locality.

Deputy Director of the Department of Construction Tran Van Trung reported on the progress of implementing the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province.

In addition to the proposal for the Provincial Party Standing Committee to give opinions on cases with problems related to land: Households with land but do not have a land use right certificate; households with a land use right certificate but do not have residential land; households living on land planned not as residential land; households with houses on other people's land; households without land...

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province continues to focus on socializing resources to effectively implement the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Steering Committees of districts and cities to assign responsible officials to closely follow the communes during the implementation process, and urgently complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in phase 1 before April 30, 2025.
