Loving homes from Directive 22 in Quan Son district

With support from Directive 22, Mr. Ha Van Long's family in Din village, Trung Ha commune has a new, spacious and solid house.

Quan Son is a mountainous district with many difficulties in Thanh Hoa province. The complex terrain, isolated traffic, and limited economic conditions have made the lives of many households here difficult and deprived. Many households still have to live in temporary, degraded, unsafe houses, especially during the rainy and stormy season. Directive 22 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee has brought hope for a change in the lives of many poor households, policy households, and households with housing difficulties in the district.

In the case of Mr. Ha Van Long's family in Din village, Trung Ha commune, many years ago they had to live in a dilapidated house, always worried when the rainy and stormy season came. Thanks to the support from Directive 22, his family now has a spacious house to live in peace. Mr. Long shared: "My family's circumstances are difficult, so the dream of a solid house, although practical, is not something I dare to think about. With a new house, family members will strive to develop production and escape poverty."

Similarly, Mr. Ha Van Thiep’s family in Din village has realized their dream of having a solid house thanks to the support capital from Directive 22 and money borrowed from relatives. The house worth 250 million VND will be a solid place to live, helping his family stabilize their lives and develop their economy with peace of mind. Sharing his joy, Mr. Thiep emotionally said: “Having a new house, my family is very happy and excited, no longer having to worry every time the rainy and stormy season comes.”

Mr. Lu Hong Chien, Vice Chairman of Trung Ha Commune People's Committee, said: "Housing is one of the difficult problems, beyond the capacity of the locality. Thanks to capital from Directive 22, many households in the commune have new homes. This is a great source of encouragement, helping households feel secure in working and producing, rising out of poverty and joining hands to build new rural areas."

In addition to the joint efforts of Party committees at all levels, the government, the Fatherland Front, political organizations and all walks of life, the business community also plays an important role in supporting the construction of houses for poor households, policy households and households with housing difficulties in Quan Son district. Mr. Luong Dinh Que, representative of Mai Duc Huong private enterprise in Son Dien commune, shared: “In line with Directive 22 of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, the enterprise has supported more than 20 million VND with the desire to contribute to social security work, helping households in difficult circumstances have a solid home. Not only stopping at building houses, we hope this will be a driving force for people to stabilize their lives and develop the economy”.

Implementing Directive 22 of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Quan Son district has established a Steering Committee, a working group, and assigned specific tasks to each member. At the same time, it has reviewed and evaluated households eligible for housing support; promoted propaganda and mobilized resources from many sides to help people build and repair houses. In 2024, the district started building houses for 802 households. Of which, 506 new houses were built and 296 houses were repaired. However, according to a survey, the district still has 830 households in need of building new and repairing houses. To continue supporting the construction of houses for the beneficiaries, the district is promoting the mobilization of resources from organizations, businesses, philanthropists, cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees, armed forces, union members, association members and people to join hands in contributing. With the highest determination, the district aims to support 643 households with housing improvement conditions by 2025.

Mr. Ha Xuan Khanh, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quan Son district, said: "After a period of implementation, the program has mobilized more than 43 billion VND to support the construction of houses for poor households, policy households, and households with housing difficulties in the area. In addition, the district reviews poor households, households with difficult circumstances and encourages children of families, clans and communities to join hands to create livelihoods and jobs for policy beneficiaries. Thanks to that, many families not only have stable housing, but also have conditions to develop the economy and escape poverty sustainably."

"The shelters from Directive 22 not only bring stability but also motivate people to rise up, contributing to the development of Quan Son district," Mr. Khanh emphasized.
