Ca Mau province was awarded the highest medal of the Lao People's Democratic Republic.

On the afternoon of March 31, 2025, in Tha Khet town, Khammouane province, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Ca Mau province was honored to receive the First Class Labor Medal of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, for its important contributions to the cooperative relationship for the development of Khammouane province.

Attending the awarding ceremony were Secretary of Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai; Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Ho Trung Viet and Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Secretary of Ca Mau City Party Committee Tran Hong Quan. On the side of Kham Muon province, there was Secretary, Governor of Kham Muon province Van Xay Phong Sa Van.

This is the most noble medal of the Lao People's Democratic Republic awarded to Ca Mau province, in recognition of Ca Mau province's contributions to the socio-economic development of Khammouane province.

The two provinces of Ca Mau and Kham Muon signed a memorandum of understanding in 2014 and have since maintained regular visits and traditional New Year greetings to each other. The two sides also organize delegations to visit, learn from, and share experiences when the localities organize major programs and events, thereby contributing to promoting and developing cooperative, solidarity, and friendly relations in all fields.

3 groups of Ca Mau province received certificates of merit from the Governor of Khammouane province.

It is known that from 2019 to present, Ca Mau province has annually supported scholarships for students of Kham Muon province, each year 1 billion VND. From 2024 to present, Ca Mau province has supported Kham Muon province to implement a project of rice cultivation combined with giant freshwater prawn farming with a total budget of over 4 billion VND.

On this occasion, the Governor of Kham Muon province awarded certificates of merit to three groups of Ca Mau province for their contributions in promoting cooperation and development of Kham Muon province.

On this occasion, the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Laos presented Ca Mau province with a congratulatory gift for receiving the First Class Labor Medal of the Lao People's Democratic Republic.
