The family of Mr. Tran Van Thai, Tan Lap village, Dong Ich commune is poor and in difficult circumstances. His wife has a congenital disability, and Mr. Thai himself is in poor health due to illness; the couple does not have stable jobs. His family's level 4 house is degraded but they do not have the conditions to repair or rebuild.
To help Mr. Thai's family stabilize their lives, the Fatherland Front Committee of Lap Thach district and the Provincial Red Cross Society supported 100 million VND to help his family build a new, solid and safe house.
Mr. Thai said: “Not only did we receive attention from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee at all levels, the Provincial Red Cross Society and local authorities, but during the process of building the house, my wife and I also received support from villagers with construction materials, contributions to filling the soil, leveling the ground, and encouragement to help my family complete the house soon.
On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, my family was able to welcome the new year in a spacious and sturdy house. I am very happy, excited and grateful for the support of mass organizations and local authorities; the affection of the villagers has helped my husband and I settle down and stabilize our lives."
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Tai, born in 1991, in Son Dong commune, had a traffic accident that caused him to lose his memory, was in poor health, and could not work. Currently, Mr. Tai lives alone because his mother passed away 2 years ago. The small house that sheltered Mr. Tai from the rain and sun, built in 1982, has deteriorated and is unsafe.
Faced with that situation, the Son Dong Commune Fatherland Front Committee mobilized member organizations, local people, businesses, officials and civil servants to donate 30 million VND to help Mr. Tai repair his house and stabilize his life.
Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Son Dong Commune, Tran Manh Hung, said: "Recently, the Fatherland Front Committee of the commune has coordinated with member organizations to survey the housing conditions of households in the area.
Through screening, a list of 7 poor households and 15 policy households with housing difficulties was compiled to report to the Lap Thach District Fatherland Front Committee and relevant agencies for consideration and financial support for families in need of building new or repairing houses.
The Commune Fatherland Front has stepped up propaganda work so that people, cadres, civil servants and public employees clearly understand the positive meaning of the emulation movement "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide in 2025" launched by the Prime Minister to promote the spirit of "mutual love and support", "the rich help the poor", contributing to the good implementation of the social security policies of the Party and State".
According to the review and statistics, Lap Thach district still has 134 households with housing difficulties, of which 50 are poor and 84 are near-poor. Responding to the emulation movement "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide in 2025" launched by the Prime Minister, Lap Thach district People's Committee has reported to the Provincial People's Committee to consider and support funding for households with housing difficulties to repair and build new houses, ensuring living conditions.
At the same time, direct and thoroughly disseminate to all cadres, party members and people the significance of the campaign; proactively mobilize social resources to support households; continue to pay attention to improving living conditions and housing of people with meritorious services.
For families in especially difficult circumstances who are unable to build their own houses, Lap Thach district mobilizes the political system, mass organizations, and communities to build houses for them.
In the process of implementing support for building new and repairing houses for poor, near-poor households and policy families, Lap Thach district proactively and effectively used resources, provided support to the right subjects, in accordance with practical conditions, ensuring the principles of publicity and transparency, and multiplying the solidarity of the entire political system and the entire people.
Promoting the movement has a positive impact, helping localities reduce the poverty rate, improve people's lives, and promote socio-economic development.
