The Southeast Asian Games have officially ended, this is also the time for the delegations of provinces, cities and sectors to look back on the efforts of the athletes and their contributions to the country at the 32nd SEA Games. With Ninh Binh, that story is no exception.
At the 32nd SEA Games, the Ninh Binh Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center has a total of 18 athletes and coaches participating, including 12 athletes and 6 coaches.
The athletes participated in Karate, Judo and Volleyball. Specifically, Karate contributed 3 athletes, competing in team and individual Kata (performance) events; Judo had 3 athletes participating in 2 team and individual events in many weight categories; men's volleyball participated with 4 athletes, and women's volleyball contributed 2 athletes.
In addition, many coaches of the Center also participate in training and refereeing work such as: coach Le Tien Nguyen, coach of Kata (performance) players, coaches Nguyen Duy Khanh, Do Xuan Ty, coach of Judo players, coach Nguyen Dinh Lap participates in the coaching board of the national men's volleyball team, while boxing coach Nguyen Thanh Tung participates in refereeing work; coach Pham Van Hiep participates in refereeing work for Wrestling.
At the 32nd SEA Games, Ninh Binh sports participated in a small number but all of them were high-class and famous athletes. This was reflected in the competition results. During the 32nd SEA Games, Ninh Binh sports contributed to the country a total of 8 medals of all kinds, including 4 gold medals, 1 silver medal, and 3 bronze medals.
Specifically: the trio of Karate athletes Giang Viet Anh, Le Hong Phuc, Pham Minh Duc won 1 gold medal in the team performance event; individual athlete Pham Minh Duc won another bronze medal in the individual performance event.
Judo: Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy won 1 gold medal in the women's 52 kg category, Nguyen Hoang Thanh won 1 gold medal in the men's 55 kg category. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy and Nguyen Ngoc Diem Phuong competed in the team events of the 57 kg and 70 kg categories. The results of the two athletes contributed greatly to the Vietnamese delegation having the highest total score, winning 1 gold medal in the mixed team Judo category. In addition, Nguyen Ngoc Diem Phuong also competed in the individual event and won 1 bronze medal in the women's 57 kg category.
Volleyball players competing for the national team also achieved good results, with the men's volleyball team winning a bronze medal and the women's volleyball team bringing home a silver medal.
It is noteworthy that in men's volleyball, Ninh Binh's players are all important factors of the national team. Athlete Giang Van Duc has participated in the SEA Games for many years and is the most experienced setter of the national team, while young player Trinh Duy Phuc is currently an important Libero of the national team. Middle blocker Le Thanh Hai is currently the number 1 middle blocker of the national team, while player Cu Van Hoan holds the national team record with a height of over 2m.
In women's volleyball, Ninh Binh had two players, Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen and Nguyen Thi Trinh. However, at the last minute, Bich Tuyen was injured and could not compete at the 32nd SEA Games, only Nguyen Thi Trinh participated. Ninh Binh's middle blocker participated in the official lineup and left a good impression in the hearts of sports lovers with her enthusiastic and professional playing style.
Not only in volleyball, but the athletes of Ninh Binh Province Sports Training and Competition Center when participating in all sports, with professional training and competition style, high awareness of the national flag, determination to achieve the highest results for the country, so during the time participating in SEA Games 32, they were trusted and highly appreciated by the coaching board of all sports.
Among the 355 medals of all kinds won by the Vietnamese sports delegation at the 32nd SEA Games, Ninh Binh sports contributed with 8 medals, including 4 gold medals. With only 12 athletes participating in the competition, contributing 8 medals shows the quality of Ninh Binh athletes, helping the Vietnamese sports delegation take the number 1 position in the Southeast Asian sports arena.
With their contributions, it is also the way for the players to promote the province's sports, and more broadly, to promote the image of Ninh Binh's people and culture, leaving a beautiful image in the hearts of friends in the Southeast Asian region, helping the image of Ninh Binh to continuously fly high and reach far.
