Masaaki is the interim ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Champion.
" I want to thank Chatri for giving me this opportunity even though I only won one match in ONE. Thank you Tawanchai for creating a great fight. Thank you to the coaching staff for helping me get to this level. Finally, I would like to thank my family who have always been there for me," Masaaki continued.
According to Japanese media, Masaaki has practiced full contact karate since he was a child and won the JKJO All Japan Championship for youth in 2007. Thanks to that, Masaaki has the ability to withstand Tawanchi's kicks very well as well as the strength to defeat the Japanese master.
With the interim title, Masaaki officially becomes the next challenger to the official champion – Superbon. This will be the match to determine who truly deserves to sit on the throne of this weight class.
" Regarding the match with Superbon, I can't say much at the moment. But if I have the chance, I want to continue to win by knockout. No matter who my opponent is, my goal is always to win by knockout," Masaaki confidently declared.

Superbon is known as the “thousand-pound kicker.” As of November 2024, Superbon is ranked #2 in the lightweight division and #2 pound-for-pound in kickboxing by Beyond Kickboxing. Superbon is one of only two fighters to have knocked out Giorgio Petrosyan, one of the greatest kickboxers of all time, and one of only three to have defeated Petrosyan.
