The MV Batter Up reached 1 million views in less than an hour of release and has now reached 26 million views after one day of posting. This song is in the Top 5 of the global iTunes chart, Top 1 iTunes in 16 countries and territories such as Vietnam, Philippines, Thailand, Venezuela, Peru, Malaysia, Brazil, Qatar...
MV Batter Up is currently ranked No. 1 on YouTube Korea's trending list and No. 1 on the MV chart on China's QQ Music music platform. In Vietnam, MV Batter Up is currently ranked No. 3 on YouTube's Top Trending list.
The keywords "Baby Monster" and "Batter Up" both took the Top 1 and Top 2 trends on Korea's most popular music streaming service - Melon.
However, Batter Up only entered the Top 140 of Genie (Korean music chart) and did not enter the Top 100 of Korea's largest music chart - Melon, as well as any other prestigious charts such as Bugs, FLO.

Some Korean audiences expressed that Batter Up is not worthy of being an expected girl group from one of the biggest entertainment companies in Korea. Baby Monster has been preparing for its debut for nearly a year and is the first girl group from YG Entertainment to debut in the past 7 years after Blackpink.
Before Baby Monster officially debuted, the Korean media had high expectations for the group, expecting them to replace Blackpink in the context of difficulties in renewing the contract between YG Entertainment and Blackpink members.
However, the audience's reaction to the MV Batter Up was "nothing new", "too normal"... Many audiences even called Baby Monster a "faulty version" of 2NE1, Blackpink - 2 famous girl groups of YG Entertainment.
According to Naver, Batter Up was produced by former YG Entertainment president Bang Hyun Suk and several producers such as DEE.P, BIGTONE. Two YG Entertainment artists, Hyunsuk (Treasure) and Chanyuk (AKMU), participated in writing the lyrics. Baby Monster member Asa also contributed to writing the lyrics and composing the music.
However, the visuals and sounds of Batter Up have not really satisfied Korean audiences. The special effects in the MV are considered somewhat outdated. The music is considered to lack the explosiveness and excitement of songs by Blackpink or 2NE1.
Baby Monster was introduced in 2022 with 7 members: Ahyeon, Ruka, Pharita, Asa, Haram, Rora, Chiquita. They come from Korea, Thailand and Japan. The group aims for the title of "rookie monster" with high-quality vocals, dance, rapping ability and visuals.

However, just a week before the group's debut music release, member Ahyeon was unexpectedly confirmed not to debut with her sisters. The reason for her absence was personal issues.
YG Entertainment said that Ahyeon has health problems and will focus on resting in the coming time. "We will do our best to support Ahyeon to fully recover and return to good condition," YG said.
Amidst fans' concerns for Baby Monster, YG Entertainment has confirmed that the group will remain as a 7-member group, including Ahyeon. According to the agency, Ahyeon will return to the group after a full rest.
Regarding the opinion that Baby Monster can replace Blackpink or not, many viewers commented that it is too early to make a judgment about the future of YG Entertainment's new girl group.
Blackpink is one of the most successful girl groups in Kpop (Korean youth music) today. They officially debuted in 2016 with 4 members. After 7 years of operation, they have become a global group with quality music products, creating a fever in Asia, America and Europe.
Born Pink 's latest world tour, which lasted for a year since last October, has brought in a dream revenue of $265 million, making them the highest-grossing girl group in world music history. For YG Entertainment, Blackpink is considered a "golden goose".
The contract renewal between YG Entertainment and Blackpink has not been officially announced yet. According to Korean media, the top Korean entertainment company is said to have reached an agreement with the members for group activities but not their individual contracts.
Accordingly, Blackpink still maintains normal group activities, but the individual plans of the 4 members are said to no longer be under the arrangement of YG Entertainment.
