This afternoon, August 27, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien, Deputy Head of the National Steering Committee against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods (National Steering Committee 389) chaired a national online conference to assess the situation and results of market management (QLTT) work in the first 8 months of 2024 and deploy tasks for the last months of the year.
The report of the General Department of Market Management at the working session stated that in the 8 months of 2024, the Market Management force has done a good job of disseminating and popularizing legal regulations on the field of trade, contributing to raising awareness of law compliance, limiting violations in business activities, contributing to stabilizing the market and protecting the rights and legitimate interests of businesses and consumers.

Accordingly, from December 15, 2023 to August 22, 2024, the Market Management force inspected 50,445 cases, detected and handled 35,510 violations with a total amount of 674 billion VND (an increase of 23% over the same period in 2023); collected 395 billion VND to the state budget.
At the conference, delegates discussed and shared experiences in market management in the locality. Many opinions said that the current difficulties and obstacles that need to be resolved are related to the mechanism for handling confiscated assets in some units due to the diversity of goods, small-scale cases, and the inadequacy of determining goods eligible for circulation in the market; the coordination between the Market Management Department and relevant local authorities is not really effective. On the other hand, in the process of implementing the task of inspecting and sanctioning administrative violations, there are still many cases of errors in the application of the law... Delegates also proposed, recommended and provided many solutions to effectively perform the task in the coming time.
Concluding the conference, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien requested the General Department of Market Management and local Party committees and authorities, and the industry and trade sector to focus on monitoring and inspecting essential sectors and goods that have a major impact on the socio-economy and food products under the management of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Especially items such as gasoline, gold, jewelry, electronic cigarettes... Focus on fighting against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods along routes and areas, especially at the end of the year and holidays. At the same time, discipline, administrative discipline, responsibility and public service ethics should be rectified.
| For Quang Tri province, in the first 8 months of 2024, the provincial Market Management Department directed its subordinate Market Management Teams to strengthen the work of grasping the market situation, reviewing and classifying subjects, and stepping up market inspection and control.
