Director of the Department of Publishing, Printing and Distribution Nguyen Nguyen said that this year's program brings four messages: "Good books need readers"; "Precious books for friends"; "Give good books - Buy real books"; "Good books: Eyes read - Ears listen". All four messages are aimed at readers, emphasizing that books are the core of reading culture.

In addition, the campus hosting this year's Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day will have many specially arranged areas such as an electronic information booth; an area displaying books by Party and State leaders; books winning the National Book Award; and an introduction to the 3D book about the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam.

Talking about the cultural message of the series of activities, Mr. Nguyen Viet Hung said that choosing the location of the event at the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam has great significance. This relic is the first university in Vietnam, a sacred space. However, the ground and campus of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam are not places for organizing large cultural events. Therefore, we have developed a master plan, ensuring security, traffic safety, fire prevention, and promoting propaganda before, during and after the event.

Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day is organized to affirm the position, role and importance of books in improving knowledge, skills, developing thinking, educating and training human personality; encourage and develop the reading movement in the community, create a favorable reading environment; form reading habits in families, schools, agencies and organizations; contribute to building a learning society.

The third Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in 2024 will be organized in a diverse and rich way, combining traditional activities with modern organization methods following the development trend of technology platforms and digital transformation.

Readers nationwide can participate in the Book Fair in person; Online Book Fair on technology platforms; In-person Book Fair combined with online; Book Fair with cashless payment; exchange accumulated customer reward points at some commercial banks for book gifts...

The opening ceremony of the third Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day will be held at 7:00 p.m. on April 17, 2024 at the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam.
