Precious heritage

With rich natural resources, a system of thousands of unique and massive tangible and intangible cultural heritages spanning 4,000 years of national history, all of these contribute to making Vietnam one of the world's famous tourist countries with heritages honored by UNESCO.

Heritages not only carry historical values, are priceless spiritual assets, but are also the "gold mine" of the country, an abundant resource for economic growth. Dr. Le Thi Minh Ly, Member of the National Cultural Heritage Council, Vice President of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association affirmed: "Cultural heritage is like the DNA of a nation, the identity, the sign to identify that nation. Cultural heritage is also a spiritual support, a solid foundation for each country and nation in the journey of integration and cultural exchange with the international community".

Associate Professor, Dr. Do Van Tru - Chairman of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Conservation Support Fund affirmed: “Cultural heritage includes tangible heritage, intangible heritage, and memory heritage. It is a spiritual and material product with historical, cultural, and scientific value, formed, built, and nurtured from generation to generation, a continuous connection between the past, present, and future. No country can build a culture without history. The value of cultural heritage accumulated from tradition brings spiritual strength, becoming the quintessence to develop a new culture and a new society suitable for the new situation”.

Young people bring cultural heritage to life on digital platforms

Recently, the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Conservation Support Fund and the Department of Culture of Vietnam's Ethnic Groups, the CDIT Institute of Information and Communications Technology, and the TikTok platform officially signed a cooperation agreement to preserve and promote the values of Vietnamese cultural heritage on digital platforms. Within the framework of the event, there was also a discussion on the topic "Technology, youth and heritage" with the participation of prestigious speakers, including representatives of TikTok Vietnam, representatives of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Conservation Support Fund, representatives of the CDIT Institute of Information and Communications Technology, and representatives of many outstanding young faces. The speakers discussed ways to bring heritage closer to young people, awaken love for heritage, and exploit the potential of technology and digital platforms in connecting young people with traditional culture. The seminar also brought new perspectives and creative solutions to help spread heritage values through online content, thereby building a young community passionate about culture, proactively participating in activities to preserve and promote the values of Vietnamese heritage.

Mr. Nguyen Lam Thanh, Representative of TikTok Vietnam shared: “As a platform that attracts the attention and following of a large number of young people, TikTok plays an important role in supporting the promotion and dissemination of the beauty of Vietnamese heritage, especially encouraging young people to participate in creating content to connect the past with the present, bringing cultural heritage closer to the young generation in the new era, to the community, promoting pride in the cultural heritage of the Vietnamese nation and strongly inspiring the domestic and international communities”.

In the program "Innovation and Heritage Preservation in the Digital World" in 2025, the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Preservation Support Fund and TikTok launched the hashtag challenge campaign #DiSanVietNam, encouraging the participation of TikTok creators and the user community to create content related to the country's cultural heritage. In particular, the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Preservation Support Fund and the TikTok platform will coordinate to organize field trips to localities with many unique cultural heritages, to record and create content about the heritage. Accompanying this journey are popular content creators on TikTok such as: Giao Cun, Ninh TiTo, Cee Jay, Manh Tien Khoi, Dinh Trang Thao, ...

Through experiencing culture, cuisine, natural landscapes, tangible and intangible heritages, as well as listening to historical stories from places, they will contribute to strongly promoting Vietnamese heritage on digital platforms. With a creative perspective and approachable style, TikTok content creators not only help spread cultural values to young people but also bring Vietnamese heritage closer to a wide audience at home and abroad, turning traditional values into a modern and vibrant source of inspiration.
