Contribute youth to build the homeland

Youth Union members of Dong Hy district launched a campaign to clean the environment and build a green, clean and beautiful homeland.

Mr. Nong Khac Huy, Secretary of Dong Hy District Youth Union, informed: Dong Hy District Youth Union currently has 4,600 members, operating in 26 affiliated grassroots organizations. In recent years, the Standing Committee of the District Youth Union has always focused on developing plans and directing Youth Union chapters at all levels to closely follow the content of the key annual activity program. In particular, it focuses on doing well the work of political education, ideology, ethics, and cultural lifestyle for youth and children; effectively implementing movements, promoting the role of youth in building and defending the Fatherland, building new rural areas and civilized urban areas. At the same time, implementing activities to inspire, encourage, and motivate youth to promote the spirit of creativity, do business, confidently start a business, establish a career, and actively participate in digital transformation...

Promoting the pioneering and exemplary spirit, the Youth Union chapters at all levels in Dong Hy district have carried out many practical activities for the community. Specifically, implementing the emulation movement "Joining hands for the poor - leaving no one behind", from 2019-2024, the Youth Union chapters at all levels in the district have presented over 13,000 gifts and many other items with a total value of over 3.2 billion VND; organized 9 medical examination and health consultation programs, and provided free medicine to over 800 policy beneficiaries, the elderly, and the poor in the district.

Participating in infrastructure construction, landscape and environmental protection, from 2019-2024, the Youth Union at all levels mobilized resources to build 196 youth projects with a total value of 2.5 billion VND, including building 18 new houses for people in difficult circumstances; building 86km of "Route to light up the countryside".

In addition, the District Youth Union also coordinated to organize over 800 environmental protection activities on the peak days of "Volunteering to build new rural areas", "Green Sunday"; planted 55,000 trees in response to the Tree Planting Festival...

In the first 3 months of 2025 alone, the Standing Committee of Dong Hy District Youth Union organized the inauguration and handover of 7 youth projects with a total support fund of 467 million VND; started construction of 2 new "New Rural" houses "red scarf houses" with a total support fund of 110 million VND... Lang Van Phong, a Dao ethnic student, class 2D, Hop Tien Primary School, is a case that Dong Hy District Youth Union supported 50 million VND for house construction.

With the movement "Dong Hy Youth Volunteers to Protect the Fatherland" associated with the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas", grassroots youth unions in the district regularly mobilize union members and young people to actively participate in the movement, establish and maintain 15 volunteer youth teams on digital transformation to propagate and guide people to install and use digital applications.

In the first 3 months of this year alone, all levels of the Youth Union have mobilized the establishment of 14 "Digital Popular Education" teams with 180 participants.

In addition, the work of mobilizing young people to join the army, fighting against wrong and hostile views, and protecting the Party's ideological foundation is also focused on by the grassroots youth union. 100% of commune and town youth unions coordinate well in propaganda and mobilizing union members and young people to join the military service. In the 2025 military recruitment campaign, 103/172 young people wrote applications to volunteer to join the army.

Identifying the program "Accompanying young people to establish a career" as one of the key tasks to help improve the lives of union members and young people, over the past 4 years, the District Union has coordinated to organize career counseling for over 5,000 young people, coordinated to provide connection counseling, job creation, and vocational training for over 1,000 young people; supported young people to access loans from the Social Policy Bank for economic development.

As of March 28, 2025, the total outstanding debt managed by the Youth Union was nearly 130 billion VND with 2,686 households borrowing capital. Thereby contributing to helping many local youths rise up to become rich legitimately. The whole district currently has 20 models of youth starting a business in their hometown with an income of hundreds of millions of VND/year and creating jobs for many local workers.

Young man Au Xuan Huu (Trai Gio hamlet, Nam Hoa commune) is one of the typical examples of economic development in the locality.

For example, Mr. Au Xuan Huu, Trai Gio hamlet, Nam Hoa commune, is one of the typical young people in the economic development movement. Mr. Huu said: Thanks to borrowing capital from the district Social Policy Bank through the credit of the Commune Youth Union, I have funds to develop livestock farming. Currently, I raise 10,000 white chickens and 200 pigs, earning an average profit of 250-450 million VND/year, creating jobs for 5 seasonal workers...

The above results show that the youth union members of Dong Hy district have been affirming their bravery, pioneering role and contributing their youth in all fields. Talking about the goals in the coming time, Mr. Nong Khac Huy added: We continue to regularly and enthusiastically implement volunteer activities for the community, build new rural areas, civilized urban areas; support young people to establish themselves, establish careers, start businesses... in many forms through practical and effective projects and tasks.
