The event was held on the evening of April 2. In a cozy atmosphere, many veteran artists from the North came to share the joy with director Bui Thac Chuyen and the crew: People's Artist Lan Huong, People's Artist Le Khanh, People's Artist Nhu Quynh, People's Artist Xuan Bac, Meritorious Artist Nguyet Hang, Meritorious Artist Ho Phong, Meritorious Artist Do Ky...

At the premiere, director Bui Thac Chuyen expressed his deep gratitude to the audience and guests.
“Our wish has always been to make a film to celebrate the 50th anniversary of national reunification and to show it to as many people as possible so that everyone can feel that our ancestors knew how to fight and could defeat any enemy, no matter how strong,” he confided.
Businessman Nguyen Thanh Nam, one of the members who contributed funds to make the film, was also moved to express: “I still remember on a trip to Japan many years ago, the taxi driver sang the song For the People Forget Yourself when he knew I was Vietnamese. At that moment, I realized that even foreigners know the indomitable spirit, daring to sacrifice for the country and people of the previous generation, so we Vietnamese people must not forget."
"History is the foundation for the future, the closest way to touch and promote history is art. I believe that with the passion that the film crew has put into the work, what the previous generation has sacrificed will not be forgotten or lost but will be kept forever in every Vietnamese person," Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nam shared.

For the film crew members, this event also brought special emotions. Actor Thai Hoa said that he had been to many film premieres in his 25 years of working, but this was the most emotional time for him.
After watching the film, many guests and artists also gave the film many compliments. Meritorious Artist - Director Nguyen Xuan Son said, he "didn't see any actors, only soldiers, Southern people fighting in Cu Chi tunnels".

People's Artist Lan Huong feels this is the best war film, because "it's been a long time since I've seen actors living in character like this, especially young actors - those who have never experienced the fierceness of war. The atmosphere of the film makes me feel proud".
Meritorious Artist Do Ky expressed his admiration for the film's crew, especially director Bui Thac Chuyen, who "was very talented in creating camera angles and guiding the actors to live, not act."
According to director Phi Tien Son, The Tunnel: The Sun in the Dark is not a film for a specific audience but for all ages. If the younger generation needs to understand the history of their ancestors' struggles, then other generations should watch the film, "so as not to forget the heroic and tragic days of the nation in a life of many changes".
After the early screenings from 7pm on April 2, Tunnel: Sun in the Dark has received a lot of love from the audience. According to the distributor representative, on the first day of early screenings, the film sold 60,000 tickets.
As of 8:00 a.m. on April 3, the film has grossed more than 11 billion VND, completely overwhelming its competitors at the box office.
The film will continue to have early screenings from 7pm on April 3 before officially opening in cinemas nationwide from April 4.
