Nhon Trach 3 Thermal Power Plant completed the no-load operation test at 3,000 rpm on January 29, 2025 (the first day of Tet), ready to connect to the grid for the first time on February 1, 2025.
According to information from Vietnam Oil and Gas Power Corporation (PV Power), Nhon Trach 3 Thermal Power Plant has been operating in power generation mode and checking grid connection conditions, ready to generate electricity to the national grid.
At the project site, although it is the time of Lunar New Year 2025, the staff of the Power Project Management Board, operating engineers, EPC contractors, and equipment suppliers are urgently carrying out the final inspection steps according to the process and instructions of the turbine supplier GE to be ready for the first grid connection of Nhon Trach 3 Thermal Power Plant on February 1, 2025 (the 4th day of Tet).

To date, the total project workload has reached over 95% of the EPC contract. This is a positive signal that Nhon Trach 3 and 4 Thermal Power Plants are ready to go into commercial operation in 2025.
Previously, on January 11, 2025, Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant officially lit its first fire, marking an important milestone in the process of putting Vietnam's first LNG power project into commercial operation.

The Nhon Trach 3 and 4 thermal power projects have received special attention from PV Power leaders, who have directed the urgent implementation of construction and testing work right during the Lunar New Year, in order to concretize Directive No. 1/CT-TTg dated January 3, 2025 of the Prime Minister on proactive solutions to ensure adequate electricity supply for production, business and people's lives during peak periods in 2025 and the period 2026-2030 with the goal of "focusing maximum resources to urgently organize the construction of Nhon Trach 3 and 4 power plants, completing and putting them into commercial operation in June 2025".
