The family said that Mr. S. had previously visited his uncle's house in the same district and drank for three consecutive days without eating or drinking. When Mr. S. fell into a coma, his uncle called and the family took him to the medical station. However, due to severe alcohol poisoning, Mr. S. was transferred to Ca Mau General Hospital for treatment.

According to Dr. Khiem, the patient was poisoned by ethanol, with severe metabolic acidosis and multiple organ failure. Doctors prescribed mechanical ventilation, continuous hemodialysis (CRRT), acid-base balance, electrolytes, fluid replacement, vasopressors, antibiotics, etc. After 3 days of treatment, the patient regained consciousness, his health almost returned to normal and he was transferred to the Department of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, and is expected to be discharged next week.
