Thousands of people flocked to the center of District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, immersing themselves in the vibrant atmosphere of the countdown program and finding a good spot to watch the fireworks to welcome the new year.

From early afternoon to evening of December 31, many people in Ho Chi Minh City flocked to the central area to participate in the countdown program to welcome the new year 2025 and watch fireworks.

Many streets in the city center are crowded and congested. As the evening progresses, more and more people flock to District 1, making transportation difficult.

At Nguyen Hue walking street (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City), thousands of people showed up early to get good seats near the stage. This is where the grand countdown event will take place with famous Vbiz singers participating such as Son Tung M-TP, Den Vau, Hoang Thuy Linh, Duong Domic, Phao...

Nhat Nam (21 years old, living in Thu Duc City) said that he and his friends were at Nguyen Hue walking street from 4pm to "reserve" good positions. According to Nam, although he arrived early, many other people were waiting here. "The later the night, the more bustling the atmosphere, everyone wanted the program to start soon to join in the atmosphere of saying goodbye to the old year and welcoming the new year," Nam said.

In order not to miss a good seat, many people bring food and drink while waiting.

"Last year, I went to the center for the countdown but was late, got stuck in traffic, couldn't squeeze in so had to turn back. Learning from experience, this year, I left very early," Maika (22 years old, living in Binh Thanh district) shared.

After the countdown event, Ho Chi Minh City will organize fireworks displays at 0:00 on January 1, 2025 at 3 locations. Of which, the high-altitude fireworks display will be at the Saigon River tunnel area (Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City). Two low-altitude fireworks displays will be at Dam Sen Cultural Park (District 11) and Van Phuc Urban Area (Thu Duc City).

To help people enjoy the holiday safely, traffic police are present at intersections and have increased patrols and traffic control.

100% of the traffic police force is on duty at intersections, areas where cultural and artistic activities are held, and patrolling the roads, ensuring people have fun safely and in order.
