On June 7, a source from Can Tho University Hospital said that they had successfully treated a patient with a nasal cavity tumor that caused nasal congestion and constant difficulty breathing.
Previously, Mr. NVS (55 years old, living in Bac Lieu province) came to the hospital with difficulty breathing, stuffy nose, and mouth breathing.
Removing tumor from patient's nasal cavity
Through medical history, it is known that 2 years ago, the patient was hospitalized and treated at many medical facilities but could not be cured. At the same time, he received internal medicine treatment but the symptoms did not improve.
At Can Tho University Hospital, after examination, paraclinical testing, and CT scan, the doctor diagnosed the patient with sinusitis, a tumor in the left nasal cavity covering the right and left palates. This is a difficult case, the tumor is large and compresses the nasal cavity, making it difficult for the patient to breathe, breathing through the mouth for a long time.
The patient was indicated for endoscopic surgery to remove the entire nasal cavity tumor. Two days after surgery, the patient was able to breathe completely through the nose and was discharged from the hospital.
Doctors say that when experiencing symptoms such as frequent nasal congestion, headache, and runny nose, patients need to visit medical facilities with ENT specialists for timely monitoring and treatment to avoid the disease from developing, which will cause difficulty in treatment and affect quality of life.
