At the final round of the 24th Road to Olympia , Vo Quang Phu Duc, a student of the Math class at Quoc Hoc High School for the Gifted, Thua Thien - Hue province, won convincingly, leading throughout all the competitions.

Phu Duc's victory also helped the school on the banks of the Huong River set a record as the school with the most first-year finalists, and also the school with the most champions in the country.

Specifically, before Vo Quang Phu Duc, Quoc Hoc High School for the Gifted had 6 other excellent candidates who also made it to the final round of the Road to Olympia, including Nguyen Nguyen Thai Bao (5th year), Nguyen Manh Tan (8th year), Ho Ngoc Han (9th year), Thai Ngoc Huy (11th year), Ho Dac Thanh Chuong (16th year) and Nguyen Minh Triet (23rd year).

Phu Duc becoming the champion in 2024 also helped Quoc Hoc Hue set a record as the school with the most Olympia champions in the country with 3 champions, including Ho Ngoc Han (champion in the 9th year), Ho Dac Thanh Chuong (champion in the 16th year) and Vo Quang Phu Duc (champion in the 24th year).

In terms of provincial scale, Thua Thien - Hue has "leveled the score" with Quang Ninh, becoming the two provinces with the most Olympia champions in the country with 3 champions.

Quoc Hoc High School for the Gifted is a school located on the banks of the Perfume River, built during the reign of King Thanh Thai. When it was first established, the school was just a row of thatched houses that had been converted from a naval barracks. In 1915, the school was rebuilt in the French style mixed with traditional Hue architecture.

The school has changed its name over many periods such as Khai Dinh High School (1936-1954), Ngo Dinh Diem High School (1955-1956) and returned to its original name from 1956 until now.

At this school, President Ho Chi Minh, many senior leaders of the Party, State and many outstanding scientists, culturalists, and educators in the country and the world have taught and studied such as: Nguyen Chi Dieu, Ha Huy Tap, Tran Phu, Le Duan, Pham Van Dong, Vo Nguyen Giap, To Huu, Dang Thai Mai, Ta Quang Buu, Dang Van Ngu, Nguyen Khanh Toan, Xuan Dieu, Huy Can, Ton That Tung, Dao Duy Anh...

In March 1990, this school was recognized as a National Historical and Cultural Relic. In December 2020, the school continued to be ranked as a special National Relic by the Prime Minister.

Up to now, Quoc Hoc High School for the Gifted is famous for many students with excellent academic results. The school also has many extracurricular activities to help students have more playgrounds to express their personalities.

For example, since 2018, the school, the alumni association and the Hue National School Youth Union have coordinated to organize the Red Laurel program to find the most outstanding and excellent candidates representing the National High School for the Gifted to participate in the Road to Olympia program.

In terms of champions, 18 provinces and cities have champions of the Road to Olympia. Of these, Quang Ninh and Thua Thien - Hue lead with 3 Olympia champions. The two provinces with 2 Olympia champions are Vinh Long and Quang Tri.

Phu Duc won the final round of the 24th Road to Olympia . After the Finishing round, the final round of the 24th Road to Olympia, the laurel wreath was awarded to male student Phu Duc from Thua Thien - Hue. 220 points after 4 rounds brought him to the podium of glory, only 5 points ahead of the second place finisher.
