Crocodile Village is located in Lien Chung Commune, Tan Yen District, Bac Giang Province. It is called Crocodile because, according to legend, behind the village there was a mountain of earth shaped like a crocodile - a sacred animal often worshiped in ancient temples and communal houses.

Crocodile Village with more than 200 houses is an ancient village located on a charming land along the Thuong River, about a kilometer from the foot of Danh Mountain. The pace of life in the midlands flows slowly here. The villagers have been cultivating onions and garlic since ancient times. They grow rice and vegetables all year round in the fields between the hills.

Cattle are grazed on deserted pastures. Straw is dried on village roads and carried home to be stored as animal feed in the cold season. The quiet roads around the village are shaded by bamboo all year round.

Children often go to school and play on this green path. Bamboo bridges still exist across the small stream to serve the people traveling between the two hills in the village. Generations of villagers have grown up, living a simple life under the shade of green bamboo.

The elderly in the village still dress and live as they did hundreds of years ago. They live in old houses with wooden gates and do light work such as sweeping the yard and looking after the house for their children and grandchildren. The old ladies in the village still have the habit of chewing betel and have “black teeth but aching custard apple seeds”, always smiling brightly whenever guests come.

Crocodile Village is a place of beautiful scenery and peaceful life. There are friendly, rustic people there.
