(NLDO) - Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan (author of Xich Lo) won the 2nd National Press Award on Agriculture, Farmers, and Rural Areas of Vietnam in 2024.

On December 4, according to information from the Organizing Committee of the 2nd National Press Award on Agriculture, Farmers, and Rural Areas of Vietnam in 2024, at 8:00 p.m. on December 10, the 2nd National Press Award Ceremony on Agriculture, Farmers, and Rural Areas of Vietnam in 2024 will be solemnly held at the Opera House, Hanoi and broadcast live on Vietnam Television.

The 2nd National Press Award on Agriculture, Farmers, and Rural Areas of Vietnam in 2024 is chaired by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union in coordination with the Central Propaganda Department and the Vietnam Journalists Association.

According to the Organizing Committee, the new point of this year's award compared to the first year is that in addition to organizing the reception of entries for printed and electronic newspapers, it also expanded the television and radio categories to all newspapers, radio stations, magazines, etc.

After the selection process, the Preliminary Board selected 70 of the best works for the final round. Next, the Final Board independently judged, then met and selected 42 of the best works to award 2 A prizes, 4 B prizes, 6 C prizes, 10 Encouragement prizes and 20 Special prizes, with a total prize value of up to 540 million VND.

According to the Organizing Committee, among the authors who submitted articles, this year's National Press Award on Agriculture, Farmers and Rural Areas was honored to receive articles from two very special authors, namely author "Xich Lo", namely Central Party Committee member, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan with a series of articles "Shaking hands with farmers" published on Dan Viet Electronic Newspaper.

In the article "Sharing hands to go further", Minister Le Minh Hoan mentioned the "4-house" connection and especially emphasized the relationship between businessmen and farmers because according to him, "farmers undertake the production stage, called input; businesses undertake the purchasing, preservation, processing, distribution, and export, called output. Input and output are closely related to each other, symbiotic with each other, if not connected, the industry is fragile. Without input, there can be no output, having input but lacking output will cause congestion".

That relationship is not only a strong bond in business but also shows sincerity and kindness to go faster and further together.

The Minister wrote: "Farmers need businesses to consume agricultural products, but they also need sincere handshakes from businessmen. A handshake is like a commitment to long-term companionship. A handshake instills confidence after an unsatisfactory crop season due to natural disasters and epidemics. A handshake shows gratitude and repayment to farmers."

In addition, the Organizing Committee also received a series of 8 articles by agricultural expert Nguyen Lan Hung with the title "Finding a thousand and one ways for farmers to get rich" published on Dan Viet Electronic Newspaper with a lot of useful information for farmers.
