Vietnam Railway Party Committee celebrates 70 years of construction and development

This morning (April 5), the Party Committee of Vietnam Railways Corporation held a ceremony to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Party's founding (April 6, 1955 - April 6, 2025).

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Duc Phong, Deputy Secretary of the Government Party Committee, emphasized the great contributions of the Party Committee of Vietnam Railways Corporation over the past 70 years in the cause of national liberation and construction. The Party Committee has led the railway industry to overcome all difficulties and challenges, achieving important achievements, affirming its worthy position in the economic , cultural and social life of the country.

Regarding the future direction, the Deputy Secretary of the Government Party Committee requested the Party Committee of Vietnam Railways Corporation to continue to preserve, consolidate and cultivate solidarity and unity within the entire Party Committee. Effectively carry out the work of Party building, build a clean and strong political system, and constantly improve the capacity and fighting strength of the Party organization.

Urgently complete the restructuring project, continue to implement Resolution 18 of the Central Committee on restructuring the organization and apparatus to ensure leanness, strength, efficiency, effectiveness and efficiency; promote administrative reform, digital transformation, green transformation and energy transformation.

"Continue to fulfill the mission and role in managing and using the national railway infrastructure. Proactively and effectively participate and gradually increase the market share of railway transport to meet the increasing transportation needs of the country. Provide safe and friendly means of transport for people and businesses, contribute to solving traffic problems nationwide, develop the socio-economy associated with ensuring national defense and security", said Deputy Secretary of the Government Party Committee Nguyen Duc Phong.

Mr. Dang Sy Manh, Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Railways Corporation, said that in 70 years of construction and development, the Party Committee of Vietnam Railways Corporation has always maintained its political core role, leading the entire industry to overcome all difficulties and challenges and achieve extremely important results, holding a worthy position in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

Under the leadership of the Party Committee, Vietnam Railways Corporation has taken faster and more drastic steps to properly implement the restructuring and comprehensive innovation roadmap as required by the Government. Overcoming the difficulties caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the results of production and business activities from 2022 to present have been profitable in transportation and the entire corporation, and workers' income has been increasingly improved, reaching an average of 13 million VND/person/month in 2024.

Mr. Dang Sy Manh said that implementing Conclusion No. 49 of the Politburo on the development orientation of Vietnam's railway transport, along with implementing the investment policy for the North-South high-speed railway project, the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway construction project and planned railway routes, there will be a total of about 7,000km of railway, including existing railways, urban railways, high-speed railways...

"To carry out the assigned tasks in implementing these projects, Vietnam Railways Corporation is actively preparing in all areas: Construction; operation management; railway industry; human resource training. With the determination: Promoting tradition, striving for self-reliance, effective cooperation, creating breakthroughs", Mr. Manh emphasized and said that the Party Committee is actively preparing for the 13th Congress of Vietnam Railways Party Committee, term 2025-2030, scheduled to be held in August 2025.
