Legend has it that in the early 19th century, a monk from the Central region went to live in seclusion in a cave in the forest. Villagers in the forest heard chanting coming from the cave. Knowing that his whereabouts were known, the monk left the cave and left behind a map showing the location of the temple on the side of Linh Son mountain. Therefore, when the temple was completed, the villagers named it Linh Son Pagoda.
Linh Son Pagoda (Vinh Hao - Tuy Phong)
Recently, I had the opportunity to visit and admire the temple. From National Highway 1A, take a motorbike taxi about 5 km to the foot of the rocky mountain, then follow the narrow road along the mountainside to the main temple hall. Although the road is long and difficult to travel, many tourists from far away still come to the temple. They not only come to burn incense and pray to Buddha for blessings, health and happiness, but also admire the majestic mountains and forests, see the temple, learn about the history and culture of Buddhism and enjoy the fresh air of the majestic, green Linh Son mountain range. According to historical records, the temple was founded around 1938 - 1939, originally just a stone cave by Ham Rong stream. During the resistance war against the French, the villagers moved the Buddha statue hidden in the deep stone cave and demolished the old temple. It was not until 1986 - 1987 that the local people had the conditions to rebuild the temple on the old temple foundation, rebuild the three-door gate and create more landscapes according to folk beliefs. Currently, the pagoda still preserves ancient treasures of historical value, such as: rectangular bronze seal, bronze bell, statue of monk Buu Tang, statue of Dia Tang... and many other valuable relics. In the middle of the main hall of the ancient pagoda, Buddha is worshiped, on the right side is worshiped Buddha Thich Ca, Bodhisattva Quan Am and on the left side is worshiped folk gods. The ancient pagoda is next to Ham Rong stream, water overflows through the rocks creating a steady babbling sound. The mountain and forest scenery in Vinh Hao is gloomy and quiet. Around the mountains, there are many natural caves shaped like frog jaws, dragon jaws, dragon navel wells, nest caves... Many natural caves seem to be arranged and created by human hands. It is this rare natural landscape that makes the ancient pagoda more sacred and attractive, attracting many tourists to admire and worship Buddha. If visitors come to Linh Son Tu in the rainy season, Ham Rong stream rises high, flows over large rocks, creating many waterfalls that look very poetic; There are places where rocks are stacked on top of each other in steps, the water has eroded the flat rock surface, sitting on the cool rock.
Visit Linh Son Tu by Ham Rong stream with many mysterious and sacred natural caves. The spiritual culture or ancient architecture, diverse natural caves of the pagodas are the focus of attracting tourists to visit, admire the beautiful scenery, worship Buddha and learn about Buddhism. In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, people feel tired, then come to Linh Son Tu as a spiritual tour, visit the pagoda, admire the beautiful natural scenery, majestic mountains and forests.
