Determining that 2024 is of special importance in successfully implementing the 5-year plan (2021-2025). Therefore, from the beginning of the year, Ngoc Lac district has been determined to overcome all difficulties and challenges in the socio-economic fields, striving to achieve high results.

In the first quarter of 2024, with the concentrated direction of the District Party Committee, the drastic management of the District People's Committee and the efforts of Party committees, authorities at all levels and people of all walks of life, Ngoc Lac district has achieved important results. In particular, the spring crop has planted 8,064 hectares, crops are being cared for, growing and developing well; livestock development is stable, no major disease outbreaks have occurred in livestock and poultry; the whole district has newly planted 380 hectares of concentrated forests, equal to 76% of the plan, forest security is ensured, no forest fires have occurred, the forest cover rate is 39.9%. In the first months of the year, the district has had Phung Giao commune recognized as meeting NTM standards, bringing the total number of communes meeting NTM standards to 16 communes and 1 advanced NTM commune...
Outstanding in attracting investment for economic development, Ngoc Lac district has submitted to all levels and sectors for approval of detailed planning at a scale of 1/500 for projects: Ngoc Lac Export Footwear Processing Factory; Xuan Thien Thanh Hoa 2, 3 High-tech Livestock Project; Export Pellet Factory under the investment and development project of HTV Lam Son Co., Ltd.; Lee & Carol Wood Processing Factory... Ngoc Lac district is the first locality in the province to have its land use plan approved by the Provincial People's Committee for 2024 and organized to announce and publicize it for implementation according to regulations.
The district has been implementing the progress of the transitional projects of 2023 and the preparation of investment for new projects in 2024 since the beginning of the year and disbursing funds for the projects immediately after the investment capital plan was assigned. Along with that, Ngoc Lac district has also accelerated the progress of site clearance for the projects and completed the handover to the investor of 29.53 hectares, equal to 53.4% of the plan assigned by the province, including: Public investment projects with an area of 2.24 hectares; Enterprise investment projects with an area of 27.29 hectares.
The cultural and social fields also achieved positive results, all levels of education in the district actively improved the quality of teaching and learning; medical examination and treatment at medical facilities were well implemented, meeting the needs of patients; social security policies were fully and promptly implemented, people's lives were improved; security, order and social safety were ensured; the military recruitment target for 2024 was completed.
To complete the socio-economic development plan for 2024, Mr. Le Hung Cuong, Vice Chairman of Ngoc Lac District People's Committee, said: The locality is focusing on implementing well the directions of the province and the District Party Committee on socio-economic development tasks, ensuring national defense and security. In agricultural production, the district focuses on implementing measures to care for and prevent pests and diseases for rice, vegetables and speed up the progress of planting cassava and sugarcane for the 2023-2024 crop year. At the same time, the locality continues to review and convert ineffective rice-growing land to other crops with higher value. Direct communes and towns to complete the first vaccination of livestock and poultry in 2024. Along with that, the locality focuses on directing Van Am, Cao Ngoc, and Minh Tien communes to speed up the progress of building and completing the criteria to strive for the NTM finish line and direct departments and offices to complete the NTM district criteria, striving to basically complete the documents and the site by the end of 2024.
Determining the site clearance as an important task, the locality is resolutely implementing it, focusing on site clearance for the Ngoc Lac Urban Infrastructure Improvement Project, the Ngoc Lac Urban Renovation Project and medium-term public investment projects. The district urges contractors to promptly implement transitional works and newly implemented works according to the set schedule; design consultants focus on completing design documents of works and projects to soon organize the selection of participating units to carry out construction works. In addition, the locality guides the settlement of investment procedures according to its authority, creating favorable conditions for enterprises to implement projects; improving the investment and business environment, encouraging enterprise development. To effectively carry out the State management of natural resources and environment, the district's specialized departments coordinate with communes and towns to actively propagate, disseminate and educate the law to raise awareness of Party committees, authorities and people in the management and use of natural resources and environment. Along with economic development, Ngoc Lac district focuses on implementing cultural and social targets and strengthening national defense and security, maintaining political and social order in the area.
