Steel price today April 14, 2025 in domestic market
Steel prices on April 14, 2025 in Vietnam are showing remarkable stability, despite fluctuations in the global steel market. Based on the latest data, steel prices in the three regions of the North, Central and South fluctuated only slightly, reflecting the efforts of domestic enterprises to balance costs and market demand. This stability is important for the construction and real estate industries, which are heavily dependent on the supply of quality steel.
In the North, the steel price on April 14, 2025 for CB240 coil steel (D6, D8) reached 13,550 VND/kg, while D10 CB300 ribbed steel recorded 13,600 VND/kg, slightly increasing to 13,750 VND/kg for CB500 grade. The Central region has similar prices, with D10 CB300 steel reaching 13,650 VND/kg, 50 VND/kg higher than the North, but the price of D12 steel and above is uniform at 13,450-13,550 VND/kg. Meanwhile, the South recorded the highest prices, with D10 CB300 steel reaching 13,750 VND/kg and CB500 up to 13,850 VND/kg. The small difference between regions, usually only 50-100 VND/kg, shows that the domestic steel market is maintaining a state of balance, without major fluctuations.
The steel price trend on April 14, 2025 reflects a resilient domestic market in the face of external pressure. Compared to the global market, where the price of rebar on the Shanghai Stock Exchange fell to an eight-year low (around 3,009 yuan/ton), Vietnamese steel prices remain at a reasonable level. This is partly due to trade defense policies, such as anti-dumping duties on steel imported from China, which help protect domestic enterprises. However, the current price is much lower than the peak in 2021, when steel reached 16,000 VND/kg, showing that competitive pressure from cheap imported steel is still present.
The change in steel prices on April 14, 2025 also brings positive signals to the construction industry. With stable steel prices, infrastructure and real estate projects in the South, where steel demand is highest, can maintain progress without worrying about sudden cost increases. At the same time, the clear price hierarchy between CB300, CB400 and CB500 steel grades (increased by VND50-150/kg) helps contractors easily choose the type of steel that suits their technical requirements and budget. However, domestic steel enterprises need to be vigilant against the risk of oversupply from China, especially when global trade policies, such as the US's 125% tariff increase on Chinese goods, can cause cheap steel to flood into other markets, including Vietnam.
Overall, steel prices on April 14, 2025 reflect a stable but equally challenging market picture. The persistence of Vietnamese enterprises in maintaining reasonable prices is a positive signal, but they need to continue to optimize costs and improve quality to compete with imported steel. For contractors and investors, this is an ideal time to plan steel purchases, taking advantage of stable prices before the market can be subject to further fluctuations from international factors. With support from public investment policies and real estate recovery, the Vietnamese steel industry has the opportunity to maintain growth momentum in the coming time, as long as businesses know how to seize opportunities and overcome challenges.

Steel price today April 14, 2025 on the world market
Steel prices today, April 14, 2025, show the contrast between the domestic and international markets. While steel prices in Vietnam remain stable, world steel prices have fallen sharply. On the Shanghai Stock Exchange, rebar for May delivery is only about 3,009 yuan per ton, the lowest level in 8 years. Similarly, iron ore on the Dalian Stock Exchange also fell to 731 yuan per ton.
In contrast, iron ore prices on the Singapore Exchange increased slightly to $94.78 per tonne, indicating that the market is diverging. This makes investors remain cautious, especially when global trade policy is fluctuating unpredictably.
Notably, US President Donald Trump has just decided to increase import tariffs from China to 125%, but postpone tariffs for 90 days on more than 75 countries and reduce reciprocal tariffs to 10%. This decision could disrupt the steel supply chain, especially in Asian countries that depend on Chinese raw materials.
